Old is not necessarily a bad thing when it comes to Ferraris but now the 458 is out it is like 3rd down the line: 458,430,360.

I think its the wheels - put a set of challenge or 430 rims on and there's a huge improvement

Still drop-dead gorgeous. Starting to look "classic" as opposed to strikingly new...I still love everything about the car.

    Still a gorgeous car. :D:D

But maybe a getting a little dated IMO. :D:D

It may be the wheels as mentioned before. If you bolt 355 wheels on the 348, it looks 10 yrs newer. :D:D

Perhaps bolt the CS wheels or 430 wheels onto the 360 and it will also look 10 yrs newer.:eek:

The CS will NEVER look dated IMO! I want that car!:eek:

I don't think so...I mean just look at it...how could you possibly not like that. I personally like the standard wheels as good as the Challenge wheels.

No way it looks like a 12 year old design to me or remotely oudated! The wide dimensions of the rear of the car will never look old.

    Some thoughts:

Several people have commented to me that they like the 360 better than the 430. Personally, I like the 360 better but it's personal preference and they are both awesome- the 360 is more flowy lines and the 430 more hard edged, but I think they are both aging very very well (my favorite 430 is the 16M- quite different look than a 360- it's Bad A#* looking!)

Regarding the rims, I actually prefer the stock rims vs modular- the stock rims look similar in concept to the rims on the 458. The nicest rims for the 360 to my eye are the CS rims, but the stock are nice enough that I wouldn't spend the money.

I know I'm biased, but I think the 360 is a classic shape that will never look out of style. Especially the lines of the coupe. I would rather have a spider, but the coupe is actually the better looking car.

I don't think it looks dated at all. It is a beautiful design which will remain in style for quite some time IMO.

The 360 looks far better than the 430. Of the three listed, IMHO, the styling is 458->360->430

Headlights are the bit that I think dates the car some. The pop-ups on the 355 clearly put it in another generation, but the broad plastic covers on the 360 are probably my least favorite detail on the car.

The engine presentation in the 360 (coupe) is simply the best. Better than the 430, better than the 458. It is the benchmark.

Does the 360 look a touch dated? IMO, it does...but just a touch. However, the biggest thing for me on the car is the performance. 400hp just isn't enough.

Personally, I think the 430 has the best engine presentation. I think the 430's plenum is better looking than the 360's. The 458's plenum looks impressive and purposeful, but the engine compartment is so tight that you can't see the framework.

I don't think it looks dated at all.. I think it looks modern and judging by how many people ask me if my car is "new" at gas stations I would guess the public agrees :)

the 355 while stunning is looking dated now (mostly due to pop up headlights)

however, we say dated as it's a bad thing.. remember a mclaren F1 from 1994 might be considered dated but I don't think you would not be drooling when you see one cruise by..

time is not always a friend to car design.. look at the 512 BBi, just wonderful lines on that.. or the countach? just because there is a new car on the block doesn't mean the old design is any less.. newer or different doesn't mean better..

the 360 will be regarded as one of the iconic ferrari designs when history judges the car.. right now its far too new to be looked at in that way..

I would be willing to bet that 90% of the driving population out there couldn't tell the difference between a 360, a 430 and a 458. They *would* be able to tell the difference between a 360 and a 355.

Most people who see my 355 think its brand new! Might be the wheels that update the look a bit. I agree that the stock 360 wheels detract from it's appearance. I don't think any Ferrari will ever look dated, but thats personal. They're all beautiful to me.

How did I already know that my post was going to bring the 355 owners out of the woodwork (in the 360/430 section, no less)??

This is going to come as a shock to many but I think the 308 looks very dated. The 360 still looks modern.

Pop up headlights and black "grills" and black rubber bumpers give the 308 a very 80's look. It's still attractive -- but not modern and not old enough to be "classic" like the Dino gt. It's stuck between the two.

The 360 still is a very attractive car that turns heads 10 years later. And, it was the innovator in the glass engine cover and hideaway top design that even today, the 458 hasn't topped.

I have to laugh when I look at the new McLaren's rear glass panel. Tell me, what exactly do you see here? Some -- boxes? Wow, how interesting...

I agreed, they should have kept it covered like the F1. Still great looking carbon fiber panels and covers but not an "engine art form" to be shown inside a glass.
