Hello Everyone! To make a long story short, the state of Colorado is causing me a whole bunch of grief with a car that I bought from California that is a 2000 360 MT Euro spec. After rewiring half of the car, adding the smog equipment to be read correctly by the ECUs, and having the ECUs flashed with a US spec stock tune, I am now incredibly close to having the car registered and plated after a long 8 months. The issue I am running into is that the car currently has a 2001 US spec tune (which is all the tuner had at the time 8 months ago). This ECU is looking for a 4 wire brake switch, and the car has a 2 wire brake switch, meaning I need to get the ECUs flashed again with an earlier software. Does anyone know of ANY tuners that could do this in the US that would have a decent turn around time and access to the correct year software? I am getting married in a month and looking to show up in the car. Thanks
You might check with Steve at Mase engineering. They keep original ECU flash bases when upgrading ECU tunes. Maybe he has a copy in his files. You can find all contact information with a web search.
He flashed the car the first time and I am waiting to hear back if he has an earlier file or the ability to turn off the CEL. Do you know if FNA would reflash these if I went to a dealership? I am trying to map out all my options since I can't find any for sale anywhere.
You may want to pm me.. It's not as straightforward as going back in time! There are at least 102 different software revisions of the firmware for the 360 and your exact car hardware specification is configured based on your engine number, assembly number and vin. Those configurations are different due to use of different emissions strategies, sensors, switches and actuators which vary across the different hand built cars. I've got vast experience with the software in the 360 now and I can definitively get this resolved very quickly for you. I've had to fix many cars that previous tuners have broken by not understanding these nuisances and flashing the wrong software for the car. Trev
Trev has your answer. He is in UK and knows more about these things and could customize a tune to suit your needs. Call him.
Hey Trev, I have read (over the last 8 months), pretty much every post you have written and I spent the better part of last night looking for the option to PM you or find your number (I actually emailed AV last night even though I know it is the weekend). I think because my profile is so new I do not have the start conversation option. Would you mind sending me a PM with contact information if you are available for a quick 5 minute phone call? I am so glad you saw this, thank you!
