Hello I have a 2002 360 spider. The hood solenoid went out. I had been using the aux cable release to open it until.... the cable broke. I am at a loss on any way to possibly open it. I am very mechanically inclined but it appears as though there's virtually no way to get in if the cable is broken and the electric solenoid is not working. Any help would be much appreciated thank you

Have you tried removing the front belly pan? Is the latch mechanism visible?

Very mechanically inclined? And you didn't fix the solenoid? :)

Where did the cable break? Was it at the handle under the steering wheel or did it break at the latch and the cable pulled out?

If it's at the handle in the cabin, you're going to have to get a new cable anyway, carefully cut through the outer metal and get access to the cable, then pull it.

Also, did you check in front of the right front wheel? There *should* be an emergency pull there to open the front hood. it's in front of the front plastic splash guard. Though.. I wouldn't use this all the time to open the front trunk. Once it breaks, you'll really be SOL. Since you're so mechanically inclined... I'd order the parts and fix it...

A 3" hole saw should give you enough room in the nose to get at the release mechanism.
