Hello everyone. I found out today that my third brake light isn't working , what are the common causes for this any help checks or advise? Thank you to all
I would check that component #17 is clean and making electrical contact. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's *probably* going to be with #17 as above. That's going to be the (+) terminal. Chassis will be (-). I haven't tried it yet, but I wonder if a 9V battery (+) to the contact on 17 and (-) to 20 will allow it to be tested...? If it's not the deck lid, then it will be the wiring below by the latch assembly..
It's #31 that's feeding +12v to #17. #17 attaches to the third brake light assembly and the other end of the brake light assembly terminates to ground via the bonnet lid. If you have another person stepping on the brake pedal, you should be getting +12v from #31 to chassis ground. I hope this helps. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Happened to my 08 and rifle driver found that it was the ground connection somewhere near where the glass lid attaches to the body. Said it was a common problem. If it’s not the above, you might look there Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
Well big thank you to all you guys, i gave 17 and 31 a clean and hey presto we have a third brake light again. So big thank you to the Ferrari community
Glad you got it figured out. Yes, its usually a ground problem. In case you want to upgrade your 3rd brake lights to LED's (I did on my 360 and F430) you can Google Scud Ing Swiss.
