    hi guys

The other day , I went to start my 360 and no matter how long I kept turning the key it wouldn’t start. The engine light came on.

So I left it then I remembered I had been cleaning the engine compartment a couple of days earlier, I checked and found I had not fully closed the engine lid. I shut it properly and went to start the car

The car started, and then slowly lost power, then cut out. I recharged the battery, thinking that I had flattened it too much when previously trying to start it.

After re charging fully, I went back, it started straight away and ran for just over a minute. Then it slowly lost power and stopped, and now it won’t start at all.

I have an engine warning light on, and on the speedo side there is a warning light , and I get beeps when the ignition key is turned to the 2 position.

Anybody have any ideas as to what could be wrong.
My closest dealer is 200 miles away

    Thanks Graeme

    buy a new battery.

If you depleted the charge from trying to turn it over, you might've discharged it low enough to have damaged the battery. Even if you were able to charge it back up and it shows 12V+, it doesn't mean that the battery is good and fresh again.

do you have an OBD2 reader to see what the engine warning light is?

what's the condition of your fuel pump? could be clogged pick up filter or a bad pump?

beeping with ignition to position 2 could be because your seatbelt isn't plugged in or the door isn't closed.

Hi Ive just bought an OBD2 reader yesterday and am waiting on delivery, but I’m not sure how to use it or interpret the codes.im afraid I’m old school I have no trouble working on my cobra but not used to computer operated cars.

Just shooting from the hip. Sounds like the fuel pumps are stopping. There may be a relay to kick in the pumps on start up and then after starting the relay stops and the relay they should run off of does not kick on. Fuel pressure drops and engine starts to run poorly and then just runs out of gas.

Or, it's just flat out of gas.

You know for someone who works on his cars, just saying "there is an engine warning light on" isn't very specific. Which one(s) is it? Check engine light? Slow down light?

Also, if the battery has been charged what is the resting voltage? 12.x volts? As you say, this is a computer car. Replace the battery every 3 years regardless and it will run reliably. The advise you're getting from those who have owned these cars is being given to you. If you choose to ignore it, don't expect to have a solution.

If one of your warning lights is on, esp the slow down light.. the computer may *think* the banks are overheating and cut fuel. In which case it's NOT the fuel pump, it a cat ECU that goes bad or a connection to both.

More information is a good thing. Finally, the 360 is different than the cars of yesteryear. For example, you might EXPECT a coil when bad to just stop working like it did in 89'. NOT the case, a 360's coil will function albeit erratic with fuel leakage into the cat.. and then with unburnt fuel and a slow down light.

Battery- I replaced mine at 4 yr intervals with Inter State. Mine was 2004 that I owned till recently. Had a similar incident happen to me leaving the front bonnet unlocked, but caught my mistake before I ran the battery down totally. I did use the procedure which called for the ECU to relearn even though was no problem at the time with the windows. I can't remember the procedure, but should be on site. In any event it started right up afterwords. Have you looked around for Ferrari Mech. in the surrounding area .

Have you tried the ECU re-learn procedure via cutting power with Main Switch for like 15-30min and then doing steps they suggest (and I can't remember) - just in case?
