How can one eat a desert?

It's helpful to remember that "dessert" has two SS, because one usually always wants more deSSert.

But desert, is usually hot, arid, dry and doesn't taste very good.

 

Ah yes I bow my head in shame, thank you for correcting my error and I shall duly deprive myself of desserts as penance...until I can see no one is looking;-)
