Ferrari 375 MM at Philly Auto Show

Hey, lazy; why couldn't you just take pictures while you were there...? Wait, let me guess; you forgot your camera or didn't think to bring one...? Sigh...

 

With luck, I'll be out there pretty soon. I'll take pics, but my camera is just awful, so I don't know how they will turn out. I'll post em if I get good ones. Don't hold your breath though, my camera IS that bad.

 

Hi, Azzurro - glad to see your post. Unfortunatley, I could not attend. I understand that there are quite a few Ferraris in this general (Philadelphia) area but I've not seen many. I drive mine regularly but rarely encounter another one.

I did hear about a Lampredi engined coupe in the Quakertown area - might be the one you saw.

Where in Atlantic City are you? I'm down there almost every weekend - I have a place at the south end, just about in Ventnor.

I drive a 1967 GTC.

I know Longport quite well - an old friend of mine from FCA used to live in the high-rise, just north of that great little restaurant - I can't recall the name of it.

I usually fly into Bader. Next time I do, pick me up and we'll chat Ferraris over a few beers. Give me a number and I'll call you.

By the way, I think you're right about the 375 owner living in Quakertown.

Wayne - you mentioned that is was a spider. You're probably right - someone mentioned a coupe but it could well be something else. As you may be aware, there ary many older Ferraris in this area.
I remember once at the New Hope show, someone looked at my odometer and remarked at the high mileage - 42,000. He about fell over when I told him that it had 142,000, not 42,000.

I will definitley rebuild it when it comes up to 200,000 (it now has around 160,000)

I met the car and owner in Reading. Thought somebody posted some pics on the old board. Car was stellar and the owner couldn't have been nicer. Yep, i just searched: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/250958.html

 

There are at least three 375 MMs in Pennsylvania: Len R's car (the one on display), the ex-William Holden 375 MM Spyder owned by Fred Simeone, also in the Philadelphia area, and the ex-Jim Kimberly 375 MM, the one with the cutaway fenders, located in the western part of the state.

 

I just got back from the Auto Show - the car is GORGEOUS. Best of all, it was tucked away in a corner, so there wasn't a massive crowd by it, and I was able to take pictures. Once I get them developed/scanned, I'll post some.

BTW, the sign next to the car was wrong... it said 355MM.

Thats the car, i live 5 mins away from Quakertown. the car was also at the Lehigh Concors last year.

 

sorry to take over this thread but do you have any pix of your car, i saw 2 and it looks amazing

 

This is a 375MM, 1953, from Q-Town.

I know this car better than most...
