Will Ferrari ever do a 4 door GT a la the Aston Rapide. Porsche Panamera or the upcoming Lambo Espada? I realize the company has limited resources. but a 4 door 612 might go over well--

If they do, I hope they do it under a different brand name.

Of course, the Maserati Quattroporte (QP) has a Ferrari-sourced engine and is a sporty luxury sedan.
Maybe it secretly is a Ferrari four-door sedan in disguise.

I just got one of the QP just like in the pic. Check my profile. The F1 is a lot like a 360, not perfect. At 7500 rpms in sport its has a perfect shift but at mid normal speed driving it can suck sometimes. The engine is supposed to be a 430 engine detuned to 400hp. Depreciation rocked these cars pretty good, mine MSRP'd at $123+ and I bought it in the mid 50's. with 13k miles. Its under warranty until late 2010. Its a fun car and the interior is elegant.

I dont think Ferrari will ever do a 4 door, if they do Enzo will roll over...

There was the Pinin, which was apparently rejected by Enzo, and the Venice series of 456s (sedans and wagons). So there have been a few.

    Gross!
Everytime Im at the dealership the salesperson constantly reminds me that the Maz has a Ferrari "this or that."
Does Maserati have an identity issue?

The 1st time I saw the Porsche saloon I had a response similar to that of Jim Carrey in "Pet Detective"-
"Finkle is Einhorn. Einhorn is a MAN!!!"

Scott- The QP and 430 share an engine block and that is about it. One with 90 deg crankshaft and one with 180 deg crankshaft and different heads as well.

Try letting up on the throttle when shifting at lower rpms. Even though the owner's manual says to hold the throttle constant and the system does back off on the throttle automatically for upshifts, letting up slightly does smooth the shifts at lower rpm and throttle settings.

That is a lot of car for $50K. In my opinion, the QP is better looking than the 2 doors, especially the previous model QPs. Congratulations
