Hi all We have changed the clutch on a Ferrari 430. We have used a Texa tester for PIS self learning and clutch bleeding. With the tester we are able to see the parameters and do gear engagement tests etc. The gear engagement is working smoothly for all gears when the engine is turned off. However, when the car is started, first gear engaged and the brake pedal is released the engine is shutdown. The ECU reports, that it has received a message from the TCU that there is fatal error in gear system. The TCU reports P1710 - Clutch position sensor error. We have changed the sensor with out any change. When measuring the signal from the sensor to the TCU we have verified that the signal is OK. Furthermore, from the Texa we are able to read the thrust bearing displacement (clutch position) in mm. An important observation here is, that with the engine is OFF, the clutch position is positioned at 20 mm when the clutch is closed. When the clutch is opened the position is approx 6-8 mm. With the engine ON, the clutch opens immediately even when the gear is in Neutral. When engaging first gear and starting to drive the clutch stays opened at approx 10-14 mm. This is obviously what is causing the P1710 and the engine shutdown. It is also possible to visually verify the clutch position difference when the engine is off and on. Does anyone know what's causing the clutch to stay open? All inputs are much appreciated. Thank you. Br Peter
