Hello all, it's been about forever since I posted anything here....so here goes Some weeks ago a Porsche Cayman came into our shop and we set about giving it a thorough engine detailing, painting some items plus added a clear glass cover and also some LED lights to show off the engine work. Well we just completed a similar job on a Ferrari 430 minus the engine painting. It did receive a thorough detailing though plus a two tone lighting system in the rear engine bay instead of just white LEDs. We have posted some pictures of this job in our blog. http://concoursautosalon.com/wordpress/ Thanks, Anthony
Since banged up metal actually stretches some, can you post a few words on how you get it back into shape, considering how you end up with more metal real estate than the vehicle started out with?? Dunno much(anything, actually) about fixin' metal and dents, but that looks good in the pics.
Thank you for the kind words. In a nutshell metal does stretch but it also has memory. If stretched too far then the repair basically oil cans which means it pops in and out. Now one method to take up that stretch is to push the metal out which surrounds the dent area. Think of it as taking up excess slack which tightens the metal in the repair area. The high spots which have been created are knocked down and the process repeated until a uniform look appears. Anthony
Thank you very much. We wish we could service other areas also, we have been to your area on several occasions but the travel time can be a hassle. I have been invited to Las Vegas to do several details for a gentleman and I would love to go but my schedule here locally is a constant 6 days a week. I do know of a great detailer in your neck of the woods so if you're interested in is information please let me know. Thanks again, Anthony
I am not a big fan of the 'lighting' in cars; wheel wells, engine compartments. It reminds me too much of Lambo's and all show with no go. BUT your work is fantastic. It really looks good, and got me to thinking...
Damn Anthony, you went from just detailing, to detailing, dent removal, custom lighting and painting. Looks like you guys are doing great over there. Cars look good.
Thank you very much, that means a lot because that was our and is always our goal. To give it a classy not trashy look. We were nervous as this was our first Ferrari to light but I am very pleased with the results. It took about 3 hours trying to find the best positions for the lights. Thanks again, Anthony Hey Jason, how are things in your neck of the woods? Yes we have taken on a lot more and looking to expand even more in the coming year. Thanks for the compliment. Anthony
