Hello Aidan - he told me the car was submerged at an angle with the front clip and engine bay under water but that water never entered the cabin. Hard to visualize how water could not enter the cabin but he said he wasn't there to see that

FWIW - I did try to low ball him but he refused saying he had too much into the car to accept my offer.

In my experience water gets into and damages things you wouldn't normally have issues with. For example it can rust the springs in the seats, or patina the copper in the wiring.

I think the most important thing here is the owner disclosed in good faith the issues with the car.

    2001 456M GTA
    VIN - ZFFWL50AX10122696
    Exterior - Grigio Titanio
    Interior - Beige
    Mileage - 11,953
    Asking Price - $69,773
Being offered by Ferrari of Denver ( of course :) )

    http://www.ferrariofdenver.com/index.cfm/ID/10/Ferrari

I know this particular car very well, the second owner is an owner of FoD and the third owner is a friend of mine and fellow F-Chatter (I'll refrain from dropping his Username at this time but I'm sure he'd be happy with speaking to any prospective buyers)

FoD re-wrapped the dash leather and performed the timing belt service, motor mounts, etc all within calendar year 2012.

I really feel this is one of the best documented 456s that you'll find anywhere for sale.

Didn't somebody here buy this car on ebay for $25k and then post saying he was unsure if he wanted the car??? It was advertised in eastern Ohio at the time just a few months ago.

No that ebay car looked really tatty unlike this one, it had more seat bolster wear and paint damage than I have seen on any 456. So unless that car got a huge and expensive cosmetic makeover, it is impossible that this is that same vehicle.

Thanks, Dino! The '01 456M/GTA is now enjoying a pampered life in Nebraska and just days after selling it I took in a trade very, very nice 2002 456M/GT with just 9,900 miles!!!!

I've got to get it through the shop so we can perform the timing belt service and see if it has any other needs but at his point it's a super clean example that drives just like it should.

    Hello Aidan,

#126819 is Titanium with a Blu Scuro interior. It's got Daytona seats with Grigio Scuro seat stripes, Blu Scuro dash, steering wheel and carpet. I'll post some decent photos once we've completed the timing belt service.

    Thanks,
    Derek

at $almost $70K you could buy a 2000-2002 456M, yes? And the one in Alabama I called on today, Saturday, spoke to Jason. They appear to have a good rep based on reviews and someone I know in the Birmingham area...when I start to ask him about the commom problems like the window mechanisms he tells me they just replaced them,mmm....there were 4 previous owners and something as common a problem as this was and no one did it till this dealer picked up this car and had it done. He tells me the car has records from Ferrari of New Jersey; I sked about rust, he says none. Hope this info helps you folks out there!

It just seems to bother me that 4 owners would let the window problem slide over some 17 years and 75K miles; was anything else neglected? I guess the old PPI would tell all......doc

Windows may have been adjusted by all those owners. Eventually not possible so, new parts that will also fail, or sending them to F1 Imports for a permanent fix, is necessary.

At those prices, they'll be sitting on both those cars for years. Realistically, the cars are priced at twice their fair market values.

Perhaps not twice but almost. Definetly have a hard time believing they will move anytime soon.
