There was at least one option on the Bicolore, at least according to the Scaglietti brochure. Note the brochure was in English and German, so the Bicolore may have been specifically aimed at Schumacher's home country and force fed to German dealers with one spec.

Interesting how the optional satellite navigation system was featured. All Bicolore I've seen in the past had this system. I suppose it was fitted to every car because no German dealer hat a customer who ordered the car. They were delivered by the factory and afterwards the dealer had the problem to find someone for it.

 

Curious how many German dealers there are if each had to take a BiColore. The F-Register list only shows 10 cars. Of course, there may have been some that were this edition but weren't properly identified on the list. 3 of the listed one came to the states so if the list is right, that only leaves 7 more. And why pick on the Germans?? What did they do to have to sell Sat/Navs?? lol

 

Eric- Seems like Schumacher was German, but I could be mistaken.

Wonder if they front loaded the Alonso 599s to Spain? Probably not.

The other car on my “bucket list” is a Lamborghini Urraco (another unicorn!!) Before that it was the Alfa Romeo Montreal (both designed by Gandhini). I have also owned 4(!!) Alfa Romeo GTV-6’s.

It is often said that the Germans are the best engineers. I won’t comment on that but imho Italians are the best designers! Think clothes and shoes!!

Perhaps biased, but also correct. For cars, Maranello and other parts of central northern Italy, for art, Florence, for fashion, Milan, for food, the nearest corner. For beauty, the Cinque Terra and Portofino. 2004, my wife and I were in Portofino and the restaurant right on the square down by the harbor (Restorante Puny..you can see it in all the video of the introduction of the Ferrari Portofino) treated her like she was Princess Grace. She looked great that night but the maitre D took a look at her as we walked up, winked at me and went into this wonderful, subtle, "the most beautiful woman in the world has just walked up to my restaurant" routine, put us at the best table on the square and the staff damn near sang and danced a musical through serving us. Over coffee, she leaned over to whisper to me,,,"they are so full of ***t, but every woman should be treated like this once in her life". Design, elegance, art, the experience of life is its own flavor.

You see Eric, your work already being recognized!! Lol And already paying dividends!! Before your work the # of 456M GT’s was a conjecture/estimate at best, now it more an established FACT!! A great job, yes. Perhaps more so an invaluable job!! Hope I’m making sense.

Are those black fender shields original? Just curious. The fender doesn't seem to have the recess for them to sit in, plus this is the only set of black shields I've seen on a 456.

Slowly but surely, Temple, the data will roll in. I am also pillaging about on the web for cars for sale as one can usually at least cross-reference exterior and interior colors with the VIN. Getting there. Not too far from being able to release an initial version of the rolled-up spreadsheet for US 456Ms. Would then follow with US 456s and later add rest of the world to pick up the whole population. Most of the credit goes to *********** and to F-Register.
