The club official name is the " R.O.M.E.O Classic car and Bike club" ROMEO is an acronym for "Retired Old Men Eating Out" which I believe came from a story in the Reader digest. It is a group of friends who got together to take advantage of the H plate for over 30 year old cars. Its limited use but has been revised to open it up. The club has a range of cars, Jaguar E type, MGBs, Ferrari, Maseratis, Healeys, Lotus, Volvos, Damlier SP 250, Alfas, Lancias, Porsches Mustangs, plus others that dont come to mind with a couple of bikes.

Octane magazine March 2016 has a comparison article between the 575 and the Aston Vanquish. The one thing that did surprise me was how few 575 manuals apparently 249 (of approx 2000 built) and rarer still RHD manuals were made only 69. It makes an interesting comparison using wiki of the 456 GT: 1,548; 456 GTA: 403; 456M GT: 688; 456M GTA: 650. Of that 456's 151 RHD GTs but only 35(?) 456Ms Just interesting comparison and if you throw in the 550 (Google search) A total of 3,083 Ferrari 550 coupes were made between 1996 and 2001, with 457 right-hand drive models produced. Just interesting that's all and I'm sure Taz has more accurate info.

Graeme- What a waste. The return on investment from having that much capital just sitting around cannot have been too good compared to the fun from driving her for 15 years or so. Just do not understand the logic behind that.
I have a feeling as it is at a dealer that it is a victim of circumstance rather than a bad investment. I have hear a story that Ferrari just sent 456s to Australia for the dealers to sell, and cars sat for years and they couldn't sell them, I suspect this is one. Although this car is in the UK I suspect it's one of the unsold NOS cars. Remember 456s were very very expensive cars new. Here in Australia they were $500,000AUD And in the UK the were $170.UKP. so my surmise is it has been at the dealer the whole time and now prices have risen it's time to recoup.
Graeme- They were the most expensive Ferraris on the market back then. The M GT was more than the 3 pedal 575M and the M GTA was more than an F1 575M. Danish tax free prices in euros. Terry from those prices it shows the mark up and taxes Australians paid our dollar generally runs at 75US cents last year is was 1for 1 US. Depends only the size of Kennel. This is the second NOS 456 (commodity) to come to market in the last few years and most disappear back into collections. Sad when you consider that from lack of use how much needs to be spent to be recommissioned, ask me know.
Graeme- Taxes really eat your lunch is many countries. When those prices were current, the euro was at $1.25 so that would have been ~$213K tax free in Europe for an F1 575M and they sold here for $228K, so not much mark-up.
I suppose we should be thankful we don't live in Singapore the procedure and the cost of buying even a basic car is staggering. I have been keeping a record of what cars come up for sale and compiling a data base. This 456M I obtained to last part of the VIN Sno 114977 for this car and it was for sale else where for 118UKP with 400 miles within the last 24 months.
