Hi, my passenger airbag has deployed after a crash, bumper was smashed and slight damage to the passenger side front frame.

My question is the airbag sensor that's is under the centre console, will this need replacing as well?

ive been told by a Ferrari specialist (not main dealer) that this will be burnt out as its only designed to set the airbag of once after a crash, is this true?

    car is a Ferrari 458 italia 2010

    Regards

    Greg

In my past experience with other vehicles, the airbag sensor(s) and ECU(s) all need replacement after an accident.

I'm not sure if the 458 has them, but cars with seatbelt pretensioners will also need those replaced, as the pre-tensioning (like the airbag itself) is also a one-time-use feature.

I fixed my FF after a slight fender bender which made the door airbag go off. And after simply replacing the airbag I was suprised that I never saw the airbag light again. These things are simpler than a Honda Civic.

Which could mean the system is not operating.

sorry for the confusing post, the light does flash on at start up like its supposed to, indicating the system is functioning. Then it goes off like its supposed to.
