That's not the worst replica I've seen... why would someone spend $60k on that when they could have a REAL one for that amount of money? I just don't get it.

Most replica Ferraris are funny. Some look better than others but as the all fake, the owners look ridiculous.
If they took the badges off a little less so, but they don't and despite what they might tell you they do most likely want other folk to think they own a Ferrari.

Many years ago at a car show the organisers put the Italian Replica stand across from Italian cars. We had Alfa, Lancia, Maserati and Ferrari etc. Speaking to one of the owners of the replicas he told me he enjoyed getting the car as accurate to the real thing as possible. I started to believe him until his friend came over and suggested we all have a race because his turbo MR2 was quicker than the car it was replicating. It appeared he had something to prove.

Replicas to me were always like slapping fake labels on bottles of cheaper wine you are going to serve at a dinner party. Sure, some people might be fooled; but the ones that can taste fine wine or know how the real bottles look make this move an incredible act of bad taste (sorry for the pun.)

Never mind slapping a Chateau Lafite Rothschild on boxed wine is entirely missing the point if you are a wine connoisseur.

What makes the act even more tragic, is people often spend quite a bit of money on these 'conversions'

It would be like spending $60 (which you can get an incredible wine to drink) to make boxed wine look like a $300 bottle of wine. Just buy the $60 of wine and enjoy!

I was actually surprised at the effort someone went to to create molds for the interior and replicate seats to at least a somewhat similar look. That is usually where the replicas fail the most. I can't imagine that these are being marketed openly or Ferrari would shut them down quickly. I wonder where is the replica is being produced? This may be a one off but either way, you have to give them points for trying.....
