Actually, in the picture you posted, there is a horizontal line above the engine intake, but this detail is missing on the first picture posted to this thread...
Yes, interesting. In our main pic the line that runs across the top of the engine cover seems to be missing in the middle and the line that runs around the buttress seems to have a slightly different shape.
Also spotted that buttress difference.. If it is indeed a rendering (which I think it is--which means nothing) it is a well informed rendering. Also, in the past on ferrarichat, haven't leaked pictures been taken off the site?
You were hoping for too much. Can you think of a hardtop convertible anywhere that's as pretty as the coupe it's based on? The Spider will be different - not an imitation of the coupe lines, which is obviously impossible.
I've found some better resolution (still not hi) pictures and can't see a difference between those and the one Ferrari released (the one I posted). To me, all lines are in the same places and all shapes are consistent for now.
Am I the only one would lend itself to a GTS version quite easily. Maybe a comission for the special project group? Remove the folding hardtop mechanism, saving weight, add a modified rear deck with roll over bar and rear window, plus carbon fibre lift out roof, and you have a modern 246 GTS.
no, the horizontal line IS there, it's much easier to see with the 1200x800 or so res pic that's on Jalop
My bad - I mean canted back from the vertical. I guess you'll see the hoops when the roof is deploying though.
Yes, probably, but I was hoping the very reason that they were going to all the trouble of a tin folder was to preserve that work of art they'd created were the roof swoops into the tail. All seems rather pointless if they're still losing the best feature of the car.
Ferrari posted this, say announcement tomorrow at 12 of new ferrari v8 .... must be the spider 458 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now that looks the way it was explained anyway the cat will be out of the bag in a week I leave for europe I will look for it there
Indeed, quite handsome! Has anyone seen a movie yet regarding the opening and closing of the roof? update The second movie on the website http://www.458spider.com/english/#/videos shows the mechanism at work. Quite ingenious! .
