That means there'll be a similar number of Pistas as Speciales? Anyone know how many Speciales were built?

 

No one knows how many Pistas will be built except Ferrari. At least no one on this site.

 

This seems to make sense. I am told I would get my Pista Q1 of 19' ordering in the next few months. I'll know more this week. I assume dealers will take limited order through 19 and more cars delivered in 20 and that should do it.

 

Completely true --- because we don't know yet when they will stop 488 production to begin retooling it's replacement. If we knew that, it could be possible to guess.

Right now it's a secret that dealers don't even know.

 

Difference here is 488 was same platform as 458 whereas 488 replacement is completely new platform and potentially also hybrid if what SM said about all new Ferrari’s from 2019 being hybrid is valid - so retooling could be a bigger exercise.

yes, but everyone here (including Ferrari itself) knows that the pruduction is unlimited. And everyone here also knows how many Pista (Coupè and Aperta) Ferrari would like to produce, as a supplier wrote how many pieces were ordered for those models.

You are right: the exact figure is unknown and nobody can know it today, but we all do know what it will be more or less (a big figure).

This said, the Pista is (IMO) one of the best looking Ferrari ever and the best looking after the 308: means since 43 years

Albert do you think the Pista will be more desirable than the new design of the replacement for the current 488? Can they make a wild replacement design or another conservative design like Cali versus Portofino for the replacement? They will both certainly be fast!

Shields are a must, particularly on all mid engine models and especially on sport versions.

 

And on the Pista they are - exceptionnally - free of charge

Unfortunately I don't know what they are doing as exterior design, but I do know that the Ferrari designer boss Flavio Manzoni likes a lot the 308 and owns a 208 turbo. With those fantastic inspiration shapes I think he will do another great car, but Is just what I hope he will do and no more, sorry.

I own 5711, 5712, (beautiful apreciation) and I want the best : Pista !

 

No issue with that, and no judgment on fairness - business is business, sellers are free to ask whatever they want and customers are free to fix whatever limit they decide. It's just that value for money is a part of the equation for any spending for me. Might be a boring approach...

Its entirely your call. You and I could justify it either way. And because its a Pista, I don't think resale should be too much of a concern. So, all I can do is share my opinion- the car would look naked to my eyes without them. But that's just me.

 

Without knowing the actual parts the number requested may include 'spare' or replacement parts as well so could be fewer actual units...

 

LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta are hybrid and (I think) not boring...
