Ferrari 488 Pista

weissach pkg is total rip off but necessary to have for future resale. manthey might have more performance and value but it will hurt collectability and that's what most owners care about most.

 

I notice the carbon wheels are absent from the online Pista configurator. Was this always the case or have they recently been removed as an option for newly submitted builds? Also, I could have sworn seeing them on the F8 option list but they're missing from the online F8 configurator.

 

The online configurator has become pretty basic and is very far from comprehensive.
However as far as I remember when configuring the F8 with the dealer configurator (which is supposed to be extensive) there was no option for carbon wheels.

 

Has anyone in the UK got a link that works for the My Ferrari portal ?
I have pics of my Pista (email from Ferrari) but I cannot get on, it keeps re directing me to the registration part.
Very frustrating TBH.

I think they have again some problems. All my cars in "mygarage" have disappeared so I checked the real life Garage and they are still there!!

 

I spoke to Ferrari NA as to MY Ferrari. They said they are having issues with it and that is why we are getting the message unknown user. It is being worked on.

Try using safari web browser to login..... Worked for me.

My Dealer managed to get some pics from the factory, so I guess that will have to do for now.

Yeah finally but there's still an issue with the language!! Have to say their website is very unreliable.......not a great look for the brand imo!

Got this pic of the Pista yesterday when they finally restored the garage and fixed the un named user issue. I suspect mines built and probably on a boat. They eventually put up the finished pic some time later. Well that's how it was for 488. Pretty sure these pics are generic anyway excepting the finished pic....mine look exactly same as fixers.

I was driving my 488 Spider for 3 months before the first picture arrived.
Quite poor as when pics land its part of the build up and excitement.

 

Agree its a let down. They need to boot off whoever's managing their site.....unless he's a mate of the big boss. Maybe that's the problem.

 

They use crap software unfortunately

 

You need to knock on their door shack and fix it mate. Seriously. They have a big problem. The site looks flashy but its slow as all hell and works like crap.

 

I know what they use and its rubbish. Needs an entire overhaul which is big $'s. Cars are great though

 

Pista in quattroroute, about as fast as the performante, slower than the 2Rs

 

Key points for those who don't speak italian:

- Much faster than a 488 GTB but doesn't require more skills or efforts, unlike the GT2 RS. To get everything out of the Porsche, you need to know what you're doing. You're on the edge and some times it feels like there's no net below you. That's not the case for the Pista;

- It combines the power of the GT2 RS with the playfulness and the ability to dance through the kerbs of the GT3 RS and that's the greatest compliment to be said about the 488;

- Outstanding grip at the front that seems glued to the road. A tiny bit of roll is useful to understand where the limit is. Going beyond that limit doesn't punish you, it's forgiving and it's still reacting in a very natural, predictable way. It's a car that takes your hand and guides you, not a severe, punishing judge as the 675LT. From that POV it's more similar to the Performante and its drivetrain;

- Electronics is a precious, hidden ally that doesn't clip your wings, it helps you play with the Pista's soul once you've chosen the correct Manettino setting, the more appropriate one given your driving skills;

- Engine is amazingly powerful, ready to give everything in every gear and "so damn close" to a naturally aspirated unit, no hint of turbo lag. Only difference is sound: deeper than a NA engine;

- Gearbox is better than ever, the usual Ferrari's marvel. Shifting is incredibly rapid, the paddle can't even get back to the rest position that the engine is already punching you forward.
