    The legend goes that ole Enzo wouldn't provide factory support for the 1972 action flick unless a 512 won, so Mcqueen had to pursue alternative sources for cars. An underrated effort which depicted the last days of all out sports car competition between the top names in sports car racing. An interesting early clip:

    Not true at all. Mr. Ferrari allowed "Grand Prix" to be filmed at the factory and in the Movie Ferrari didn't win the Championship.

    A great book on the Movie Le Mans is "A French Kiss With Death".

    I heard that Ferrari wouldn't provide the cars because the Porsche team was going to win in the movie, so David Piper provided the cars. Wasn't Piper also critically injured during filming?
