I passed H R Owen's new 'Atilier' at The Berkley Hotel in Knightsbridge recently where a 512S is on display. The 512 S is described on the HR Owen press hand out which comes in PDF form and is repeated verbatim here :- http://www.autoevolution.com/news/felipe-massa-helps-inaugurate-new-ferrari-atelier-36956.html as " a very special 1970 Ferrari 512S which was driven by Mario Andretti and Chris Amon at Daytona and Sebring before being driven by Derek Bell in the film Le Mans. " I believe Mario may have driven chassis #1026 with Art Mezario and Jacky Ickx at Daytona and shared the same car with Ignazio Giunti /Nino Vaccarella at Sebring after his gearbox failed in chassis #1010 at Sebring. I have no recollection of Chris Amon being on the Ferrari driving team at these races. Can anyone confirm if the 512 S seen at HR Owen is #1026 and if that is the same car Derek Bell drove in the film Le Mans ? Relevant answers may be credited and used in a forthcoming blog. Thanking you in anticipation of your responses.
