Hi I have a family friend who is selling his beloved Ferrari 512M in Rosso Corsa. He has owned it for 8 years and it has been fully maintained regardless of cost, (how a Ferrari should be treated) He has recently purchased an F50 but is that much in love with his 512M that he could not part with it, with the price he was offered by the dealer. However, if anyone is seriously interested in buying a 512M he would part with it, but only if the right price was offered. As you are aware the 512M is a rare car, so if he did not get a resonable offer then he would be willing to keep it as well as his F50. If you are interested please PM me and i can arrange to send you photographs and any information you require. But please only if you are serious!!
er, is this really a 512M or by any chance a F512M? Tell your friend that the first offer is always the best one, so maybe he should have taken what the dealer proposed. If it's a F512M then it's hardly gonna make a lot of money....
A F512M is a most excellent Ferrari, I don't know why you would think it won't make much money? Also I have found the 1st offer is NOT always the best. And dealers do offer embarrasing figures on trade in don't they, unless youv'e got money to Burn
I agree with you simon i really like the F512M and couldn't understand why that comment was made, but everyone has an opinion.
No probs. Let's see what it'll fetch. I suspect you are mixing up personal likes with the hard, cruel world of the market.
I never even said that he wants a sky high price for it Al, all i said was he will not let it go for stupid money!!! Perhaps you have taken a personal dislike to this particular model!! Because your first post on this subject showed aggression against it as if to say why bother selling it, as it is not worth a bean!! As for mixing my personal likes with the hard cruel market, it is NOT my Ferrari so how can that be. (Read before you reply) I posted this message to try and get rid of the guys Ferrari not to look for a fight. As for the asking price, he is open to offers (resonable ones that is) not £3.50p like some people think. How much do you think it is worth and i will let you know if you are on the same wave length.
I'm a tad surprised there wasn't a good bid from the dealer when the F50 was taken into consideration (can't have been cheap), but then there are so few F50s around that the dealer was probably prepared to wait for the right snag on the line. F512M prices? Bit difficult to determine, but I believe Steve's is up for 55k and is still in his hands... Question is, at what point do people start biting your hand off? Dealers would normally want around 10k margin at least at that level. So if you need to sell, you know your ball park.
you'll pay around 48-50kk for a private sale one and around 52-55 for a dealer from the ones I have seen which are....few and far between, stevef's is better as the interior is rarer
Bit of a fatuous conversation this. What was he offered and what does he want? ...and there you have the gap. Like the gap between what a car is worth and what owners dream about. If he loves it that much, best to keep it. Xcept it'll be worth a whole lot less in a year's time.
That is the problem Al, if it was mine i would keep it. But that is a different kettle of fish because its not. I have had a bit of interest from this site, so i will keep all informed. I will get some more pics and some more info!!
Dear Comrade Steve M8, Clearly he wants too much. If it represented anything like demonstrably good value for money the price would be the first thing to have been mentioned. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are - Tea Arse - Tear Arse 'Profitting from Prophetting.'
There is no big secret about the price he is asking about 55k-60k We just wanted to see what kind of interest there was first. CHEERS DAVE
Dear Comrade Davesimmo, For the Dream Machine to be properly assessed you really do need to offer a little more information: Number of owners. Service History. Condition. Number of smiles it has covered. With kind regards, 512 Tea Are - Tea Arse - Tear Arse - Marketing Executive to Ferraristii Chaterboxii.
He is the second owner and he has owned her for 8 years. It was registered on the 31st December 1995 and he took ownership on the 19th March 1996!! It is in immaculate prestine concourse (whatever you want to call it) condition, maintained fully, regardless of cost. It has a full history with Graypaul and recent belt change. As far as i know last time i saw it there was 17k on the clock but i will check that too, i will not see him until Friday so i will have more info then. The annoucement that he is selling it has only just come up so i havent had the chance to get every minor detail but i will. Cheers Dave
Dear Comrade Dave Simmo, £55k makes it appear as demonstrably good value. The problem with these cars (and 512TR's) is that a 550 with higher smileage can be had for not too much more. The F512M is very much an aficionado's motor car. Find the man and you have the buyer. These cars are almost certain to appreciate in the longer term - it is a true classic. However, it requires careful marketing. Have you considered placing an advertisement on the Ferrari Owners Club site? (Membership is not a prerequisite). With kind regards, 512 Tea Are - Tea Arse - Tear Arse
I agree Tea, you should purchase it forthwith... of course, you would need to move quickly and sell your TR at a greatly reduced price in order not to miss such a buying opportunity.... do you take part-ex?
