Hi everyone, I just rejoined this forum, used to post on here back in the early 2000’s when my dad owned a nice red Ferrari 512TR. I’ve always been a petrolhead with a fascination for classic Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Now one of my hobbies is to redesign, improve or modify classic and vintage supercars. I have a channel on ArtStation
    https://www.artstation.com/search?sort_by=relevance&query=dan osib

I am interested in any feedback, advice or suggestions from the members on here; to help me improve my skills.

I understand that the guy who owns SLC supercars actually has a fibreglass mold of the 512M racecar. It would be a dream to build that thing into a road legal car with an engine from a 512TR.

Below is a rendering that I created of a vintage Ferrari 512M race car ‘for the road’ with the following modifications…

Added Ferrari F40 wheels, redesigned wheel arches, extended side skirts downwards, redesigned rear end & lights, modified front end, larger exhaust, new wing mirrors.

At least your trying to start a career path and got to start somewhere.
You will get a lot of negative feed back on this forum but don't let that get to you.
    Take it as positive criticism.
Above your trying to alter an iconic car. Its not for me but someone may find it interesting.

Thanks for the comment Red Baron. Blimey, I do remember FerrariChat being a lot friendlier back in the early 2000’s. It’s nice to be back though.

I superimposed the 4 bolt wheels into the image to give a rough idea of what the car would look like with gold wheels.

I could give you a thousand reasons why doing this is a lot harder than you imagine or why it is really not a very feasible project but that is hardly helpful.

Stick to your dream-make it happen. I hope it does!!!

Thanks for the heads up. There is always a solution to any problem regarding car designing. There is always a work around to an issue.

Sounds like fun. The TR engine and transaxle make for a pretty high combination for a 39" or so car. Different transaxle would help lower the package.

That’s a good idea. I wonder how much it would cost to build this recreation? Here is a list of some of the main parts that would be required…

    1) FERRARI 512M BODY MOULD (the guy who owns SLC Superlite company has one in storage)

    2) GENUINE FERRARI ROSSO RED PAINTJOB.

    3) HIGHLY MODIFIED GALVANISED CHASSIS FRAME FOR A LAND-ROVER??? (CUT & WELD IT/ADDING TUBES)

    4) FERRARI 512TR ENGINE

    5) FERRARI F40 STYLE GOLD WHEELS

    6) CUSTOM CLEAR PERSPEX WINDOWS & ENGINE AIR SCOOP.

    7) CUSTOM MADE EXHAUST SYSTEM (WITH MUFFLER).

    8) UNEQUAL ARM SUSPENSION FOR FRONT AND REAR.

Might want some unequal arm suspension front and rear, too.

You´d need some space for the muffler at the back and cover a bit more the rear wheels, probably with some sort of bumper/diffuser. To keep the "high tail" look you can make it black/carbon fiber (see Daytona SP3 for reference).

The other option would be to install a 1000BHP Koenig modified 512TR engine, because there is no muffler required (just straight pipe exhaust)

Vonbarron, I meant that comment in a nice way. I’m impressed by your car. Any chance of some more photos from other angles?
