No concerns about turning circle, ground clearance, visibility or other issues? It looks so otherworldly that its hard to believe that it can function on real roads. In any case its good to see that another of Pininfarina's icons is in good hands.
Absolutely amazing car - a childhood dream of many folks Could not have found a better home than yours Congrats on this acquisition
It will take awhile but we will fix and unravel her mysteries. Chassis/Gearbox/Engine/suspension likely 612 Can Am 0864.
I've seen early period photos of the car with a pronounced cylindrical air scoop ahead of the rear wheels, (you can really see it when the car was painted black) and then later photos of the car without it. Was that an evolution at one time of PF contemplating it becoming a 'runner'?
Cool! I didn't know if the date of manufacture pre-dated all the crappy legal shenanigans needed to make the car drivable on the street in the US...
Awesome acquisition. This could be arguably the most forward thinking Ferrari concept car ever created. I would imagine rear visibility would be a serious problem on the road though.

What fantastic news to hear that this iconic car has changed hands. As a little kid a saw a photo of it and was totally awed thinking it was just an incredible design. Just think of the furor it must have caused in 1970 and thank goodness they showed it in Geneva rather than Detroit. The Italians showed themselves to be DECADES ahead of the rest of the world in styling with the Modulo and it is just filled with so many interesting details. I personally love the huge opening canopy with the articulating support rods that go into the front hood line. Back in 1990 my parents were on a trip to Italy and stumbled upon the 'L'idea Ferrari' display. I was so intrigued by some of the photos they took including ones of the Modulo wooden buck as well as the Dino Competizione. To me it is just so cool to see these cars being used and out in public for people to see and appreciate. I hope to be lucky enough one day to check out the Modulo in person. I would expect it to surpass my childhood level of enthusiasm. Here are some photos I found on the net of the Modulo with the wooden buck. the fact that they used a racecar chassis is ultracool. did ferrari give it to PF or did they have to buy it from them?
Fantastic Jim, a triumph. And to think we might have the chance to see her on the road in the near future. Congratulations and I might make it to Villa D, purely on account of this.
Use to be able to be seen on the 101 just before you pulled into Hollywood from Studio City, at a shop across the 101 from Universal Studios. It just sat outside under an overhang. "A staple of Southern California car culture for many years, the Landmaster was parked in full view next to Dean Jeffries' automotive shop on Cahuenga Boulevard in North Hollywood, California from 1977 to 2005." Congratulations Jim! I hope you 'll buy all the collection in Cambiano, so it'll be in the same hands for long time.
