Hi everyone This forum is fantastic, and a great resource. I am finally in a position to buy my dream car, a 512TR, but I just need to know where to look on the gearbox for the serial number so I can be sure it has the updated differential carrier. My TR is a 1993 model. If it is above 1370 then the TR is looking very good indeed. Thanks for any replies! Sam

Hello Tim; Very Gracious of you to provide the photos & info. Is that aftermarket exhaust you are running?, as I see just straight pipes where the O/2 sensors are threaded......Mark

Did you read all our threads about the (512)TR diff problems ? (F.i.: http://ferrari101.com/forum/showthread.php?t=343161 and three others) But it is no absolute assurance to buy a car with an "upgradede" oem diff ... Good luck! Please keep us posted Sam ...
Unfortunately I lost a bidding war for the 512TR, it did have the later gearbox as well. Never mind, another will surface eventually! Thanks 302Tim and Melvok for your help.
