(Hope its not a repost) http://www.autocarmag.com/News_Article.asp?NA_ID=206917 Ferrari will announce a more extreme version of the 575 Maranello at the Geneva Motor Show. Inspired by the Le Mans class-winning 575 GTC (pictured), the new version should offer increased power, reduced weight and an upgraded chassis. Sister company Maserati will also be busy at Geneva, showing not only the road-going version of its Corse Competizione FIA GT car, called MC 12, of which just 25 will be built, but also a sportier version of the Coupé labelled GranSport.
It seems that it would cost ~$265k -- but perhaps because of it's relative exclusivity (relative to how many 550's/575's have been made) it would hold its value better
There is a very strong rumor that the 575 will be introduced as a convertible with a retractable top. To do so probably would require more hp and state of the art light weight top construction.
The 575 GTC has got to be the meanest looking Ferrari IMO. what a beauty. I hope the road going version has similar looking wheels, and a wing.
Met my Ferrari Importer for the Far East 10 days ago after he came back from the World Dealers Meeting in Maranello and he did not mention about the lightweight 575. He did however say the Maserati MC12 will be on show in Geneva. The Maserati was shown to the dealers and he said it was beautiful, nicer than the Enzo!! The dealers were asked to take orders for the MC12.
OH S H I T a new 575 I am going to be waiting for production announcements. I want that sooooo bad right now it hurts, it actually hurts.
Can't find any pics of the MC12. does it look like the MCC on Maserati's website? If so, it is better looking, meaner and sharper than the Enzo. Anyone have a picture link and/or preliminary pricing info?
Is it possible that the suspicious car is the 600 Maranello? Use google and you find several sites that mention this (Enzo V12 engine, > 600hp). To be honest, I hope that all these rumors (especially the convertible thing) are nothing else than rumors. My new 575M will be delivered in Q2. I would die if there would be a new maranello convertible and I drive the coupe. I hope that will not happen .... crossing fingers.
damnit geneva just can't come soon enough....! I hope it looks as good as the FIA GT variant. I kinda figured they were going to do a racing spec version, since the 2003 Ferrari Annual had a spread page on the maranello's (both 575 and the FIA GT variant)
