Have you checked to make sure the gas pedal isn't getting hung up on the floor mat?

If that checks out have a look at the connections for the mass air flow sensors. Make sure that they are clean, the wires are in good condition, and connected properly.

Also how about misfiring? Does it sputter or just bog down? Have you gotten a check engine light? Have you pulled the codes to see what is stored?

I suspect the mass air flow sensors. I am familiar with Bosch MAF sensors that can be unplugged and successfully run in limp home mode. Unplugging the air flow sensor can quickly prove or disprove that this is the problem.

I do have personal experience with acceleration stalling out at 4000 RPM due to the air flow sensor.
