New Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano from the Geneva Auto Show. Hmmm... I don't know if I like the one taillight per side? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed. Ferrari's should have twin tailights IMO. And the rear looks too bulbous and round. And the...oh never mind. For all the flack the 612 design took. It is alot better looking than this new 599 IMHO.
Last issue of FORZA shows a 250 that is the evolution of the GTO. It has two tailights per side, the grill area looks very similar as well.
I'm going to wait until I see it in person, before really giving thumbs up or down. I do say recent photos have grown on me a bit. Some cars simply do not photograph well.
FYI, there are two other threads that I know of that have beaten this horse to death, and posted all of these photos. Do a search, you will see even more photos.
I've liked nearly every non-factory photo of the car. New from Top Gear: http://www.topgear.com/content/timetoburn/sections/wallpapers/store/0123/1024.jpg Ferrari, Models...good times. - Chris
I may have missed a few. Perhaps a nice Ferrari book would be helpful. Good point. I notice a lot of the design cues are just pulled from past models. So when they use it on a newer model and people claim they don't like it at least they've got something to fall back on.
I should have said "Modern" ferrari's should have twin tail lights and I did add in my opinion..if thats ok with you. .
I think most of us have grown accustomed to the twin tails look. In this interpretation of historic design, there seems to have been a few slight hiccups, but minor enough to be overlooked. The trend toward a more stylistic approach to design as in the past, opposed to a form over function design like modern Ferraris have could bring about a rekindling of true automotive beauty. I'm not saying that the Ferraris of this era aren't attractive, they just carve the beauty out of what's left after aerodynamic testing. The 599 seems like it finds aerodynamics within the original beauty of the car. I'm likely wrong, but that's what I get from it.
