Maybe for some of you this is a silly question , but is the performance from a 599 enough ? What about in confront with porsche 997 turbo pdk and lamborghini gallardo lp540-4, california etc ?

My experience is the 599 is more than fast enough.....the issue is finding space to unleash that V12 to its full potential!

Thanks for the answer 360 cs ,,, how does a 599 compare to a lighter car like 458 or scuderia , which is more brutal in acceleration ?

599 has more than enough power, its problem is putting it down evenly and predictably, especially on anything other than a dry road.

It's performance feels more visceral (as CH would say) than a 458, as much from the chassis response as from the additional four cylinders.

The 599 has greater low and mid range torque than either the 458 or the Scud which gives it a different feel to the 458 or Scud.

Behind the wheel, the 599 feels faster than any of the other cars mentioned in this thread.

I traded in a 2008 430 Scuderia with test pipes for a 2011 599 60FI. The 599 is definitely faster above 100. Not quite as visceral sound, and I agree that putting the power down requires more care given the torque, but I am very impressed and don't regret the decison at all.

The issue with the 599 is the ability to deploy the power. You need mostly smooth and yes dry temperate roads and tires.

Its a wonderful wonderful very sporty GT. Much more sporty than a Bentley or just about anything else. The V12 is a masterpiece. The car is gorgeous and comfortable. But it does not have quite the "quick hit" of excitement the sports cars such as a 458 or 430 provide. The 599 is fine for shorter drives, but it really excels at longer drives. You can carve canyons or drive along at the highway. The car has massive power. The handling is great but you have to learn to get past some body roll. Pull the exhaust flaps so they are always open- the sound is always glorious. And theres nothing like a Ferrari V12- it sooo smooth and fast revving. If you like such things, theres nothing better.

As to the best value among current models, thats probably a 550 Maranello. But the 599 is a LOT of car especially for the money.

Other posters have answered the performance aspect of the 599 perfectly. I think the 599 is way too quiet compared to any of the other cars (except the Cali), and you're definitely going to want to do something about it. I opened the exhaust valves and it still wasn't enough for me so I went and changed the entire exhaust system to make it sound as loud as any of the mid-engined supercars.

The car is really comfortable, has lots of storage space and can easily be used as an everyday car that still has a ridiculous amount of performance for when you want to drive it hard.

I note that you're only 20 years old though, before you even think about buying this car, you should make sure you can get insurance for it.

I would not recommend this car for a younger driver unless they had an unusual amount of driving experience. You have to respect the cars power or she can bite.

in my country you can put the price of the cars as much as you want , so it isnt a problem :) yes I have heard some 599 I wasnt impresed I cant belive that a california is louder , I will just go to pp-performance and remap and put an exhaust ;) the only problem is the ground clereance , is it lower than 15 cm? my friend has a f430 and it is ok

Thanks .. So we have a very fast ferrari 0-300 29.9S , in which you can feel the gforce a lot , more comfortable then some high performance cars and ferraris , a great looking ,, so I would see it is the best ferrari for me ( I dont need track performance because we will not have track here in albania for the next 100 years :p ) I need it to be a head turner and an overtaker in the highways ;)

I think it has good ground clearance. I have never had any issues with it. Just don't go over bumps too quickly and you won't hit anything. The HGTE has stiffer suspension which will make it even more difficult to scrape things.
