This months are for me as Christmas.... Here are promised photos of Fiorano Spider test mule: http://www.czechferrari.cz/clanek/ferrari-599-gtb-spider-hot-news/13388/
Interesting! Looks like the 599 "M" of sorts given the different, more California-like bodywork. And while some may say it's just a Cal, look at the interior and the lines of the hood. Looks 599 to me. One thing: I don't mean to be pedantic but it wouldn't be GTB if it's a spider. Probably "GTS" though Ferrari has a way of naming at the last second.
at least this is a sign that 599 lineup will be in extended production span.....at least 3 -4 years again I think...Good news indeed
interesting .. should be a nice addition to the Ferrari range. Any idea if this will be a limited run (aka Superamerica) or a normal production car? Also how come this site always gets the scoops?
Wow I can't say the mule looks good, I was hoping that they'd go for a hard top. I'll bet it's gonna be the best looking car on earth with the top off though.
Let's hope they don't make the mistake which Ferrari made with the Superamerica. Although it was a good looking car there are too many problems with the roof and the mechanism supporting the roof. I hope they will make a softtop with a folding roof. In this way they don't interfere with possible California clients and they don't draw clients away from the F430 Spider
I honestly hope that it will be a soft-top convertible. It would be a fine successor to the Daytona Spider. IMVHO, the 599 is the best looking production car Ferrari has produced since the Daytona.
I don't quite know what to make of this... It could be a 599GTS although it could also be a photo of an early California mule... We'll see... _J
Despite the poorly placed watermark it seems to have a sliding fabric roof between the window frames ala Citroen 2CV
I kind of want it to be like the 550 Barchetta, one of Ferrari's greatest designs ever. But I can't say that I won't like a soft-top. Either way, this will be awesome!
My vote is for early Cali mule...looking at all 3 cars together, you can see the lines on side of the mule are the same as the California and the taillights are the same too. The gas tank is also on the same side as the California. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed. Definitely a Cali mule, not a 599 convertible. The body panels are not significantly altered to accommodate the extra length of the 599, the interior is finished, and the gas tank thing that ZonderF said.
I agree too that it looks like a Cali mule. However that being said I would be fairly surprised that a 599 spider will come in the near future if Ferrari keeps with their trend.
I think, that you are not right. No, this is 599 Spider mule and my italian contacts say the same. You necessarily don't need the mule with length of Fiorano to test the components for 599 Spider. There is enough of space for 599 Spider seats and safety systems under this "shooting-brake" roof. Cali mules doesn't have 599GTB dashboards and early Cali mules doesn't have this special masking. Or can you show us any photo of the same early Cali mule? with this original cali rims? It is possible, that I am not right, than I'm sorry about that.
i think a hard top convertible would be the way to go if they decided to do it. i would get in line for one.
