As part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, Ferrari will build a series of 60 truly unique cars. These will be based on the 612 Scaglietti, the Prancing Horse’s range-topping Gran Turismo which combines blistering performance and superb handling with superior comfort, sumptuous handcrafted trim, state-of-the-art accessories and meticulous attention to detail

The cars will be offered with a two-tone livery in a combination of classic Ferrari colours as used on some of the Prancing Horse’s most memorable models. The interior appointments will feature sophisticated colour combinations and a stunning new-generation electrochromic glass roof, itself a major innovation. The degree of opacity of the roof, in fact, can be adjusted to suit the occupants’ requirements.

To underline the exclusivity of this series of one-offs, each example will also boast an enamelled symbol set on the central tunnel representing one of the 60 historic events chosen to celebrate the marque’s anniversary, as used on the “Ferrari 60 Relay” baton.

The result is a true collector’s car aimed at Ferrari’s most dedicated clients.

Why would Ferrari choose to base its anniversary celebration on the ugliest car they have ever built?

Why not use a 599 or F430? That would make more sense.

Maybe Ferrari will learn some things with this project that they can carry over to more deserving models like the 599.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Personally, I think the 612 looks fine. Especially in the two-tone paint schemes for the 60th anniversary version.

And, why not build a special car based on your top of the line model? Who builds a special version of their entry-level car (the 430)?

No idea why they picked the 612, and no idea why they stole the gallardo Nera concept...

If any of you lot had any idea what you were talking about it would be worth mentioning, when are people going to realise that for Ferrari to stay ahead of the band of cheap copies such as lamborgini, pagani etc, then the old ways which were great have to move over for the new age of ferrari, speaking from over 12 years experience working with Ferrari they have for the most part pathed the way of exotic car manufacturers, they are not affraid of taking risks with there design unlike other so called inovators, long live the horse.

I like it when a first post starts off by insulting everyone on the forum. It makes for a positive beginning.

Yes, we are all idiots here on Ferrari Chat. What could a community of people who in combination, own hundreds and hundreds of Ferraris, possibly know about the company , or for that fact what products in which they want to sell to US.

    BTW welcome aboard.

    Darrell.

Ive been to Pagani and seen his cars up close and the workmanship FAR surpasses anything Ive seen from Ferrari

Calling Pagani a cheap copy is Way off base

Besides the Zonda was out long before the Enzo so what did Pagani copy from Ferrari ?

I wonder why they would picked the 612 considering they didn't sell very well when it first came out. They should have introduced a completely new design like they did with the F40 and F50. It's going to be interesting to see if they sell.

That was surreal, I'm laughing so hard - I mean could you get a more dedicated group of ferrari devotees, I'm sorry I mean idiots... Still laughing hard. I mean why hold back, set caution aside, in a first post just kick the door down and say what you really think - especially to the loyal customers.

FWIW I still like the 612, a lot. I went to USA and hence to a dealer last week and saw all, they had an FXX, an Enzo, maranellos (lots), couple of 612's, a 430 outisde, mondial t, 348/355/360 (lots of 360's). The 612 was elegant to my mind. If I had a criticism, interiors could still be a bit more understated. 550 interior seemed the best.

But overall I still love and prefer the older cars... Hence for a 60th anniversary, how about producing 60, two of each of the best of the older cars - 250swb, 275gtbs4, 250 gto, daytona, 250LM, TR, dino, - just imagine. A verritable noah's ark of joy.

But then again I don't know what I'm talking about....and while that may be true relatively speaking when it comes to ferrari experience, others at F chat have decades of experience loving these cars. Complete idiots, obviously.
