Yup it sure is JM's old car. Here it is before it had the batman treatment. GV has a different one for sale. It is the "carrot farmer's car"- one with needs from what I have been told anyway. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I feel bad Dollar Ds was telling me the 60th birthday drive is more a part of the big picture of an Italian festival.Media should be more informed and tell the full story ,rather then 100k speed event.
There is another event in Sydney on the Sunday... I think the details might be buried deep in the other thread linked by SPEEDCORE.. It is all part of a relay (ie: baton) by Ferrari.. here is nice route map of the countries it visits http://www.topgear.com/content/features/stories/2007/02/stories/02/1.html Greg
The route shows Melb and Brisbane but misses Sydney Ahh cool! someone did mention something but didnt go into details..
Yeah, I found they'll be in Sydney on the 4th of March, crossing the Harbour Bridge and then they'll be on display at the Overseas Passengers Terminal at the Rocks. "Ferrari 60th Anniversary - traffic arrangements Sunday, 4 March 2007 Traffic delays expected in the Sydney CBD on Sunday, 4 March 2007 for the Ferrari 60th Anniversary drive. Time: See below for details Location: Sydney CBD Contact: See Transport Infoline website in 'Related Links'. Traffic delays are expected in Willoughby and the Sydney CBD on Sunday, 4 March 2007 as 60 Ferrari's, escorted by Police vehicles, make their way from the Willoughby Leisure Centre to the overseas passenger terminal in The Rocks. Whilst their are no official road closures or special event clearways for this event, motorists are advised to expect delays if travelling citybound from Willoughby between 10am and 12pm on Sunday. Police will manage this event and keep the procession of Ferrari's together until Grosvenor Street, Sydney after which the vehicle's will make their own way to the Overseas passenger terminal."
Does anyone know what the selection process will be and when notification will go out. Wonder who is actually involved, FCA, Zagame, Ferrari themselves and who has the main say? Probably Ferrari Australia? Maybe I should have had my car serviced at Zagame! Still, fully expect that a 1986 328 GTS (red/black) will be a shoe in. Who do I need to be nice to? Tony
