Thanks, but I am looking for an F1 trans, but those colors are my first choice. I have a 550 Maranello now and I don't like the manual 6 speed.

I've been trying to buy the first one you mentioned, right colors inside and out. But the owner will only come down to $105,000 and thinks since the Maranellos went up so much his 612 doubled in value too. I've owned Ferraris since 1970 and a number of them have been 4 passenger cars and I like them but they are only worth about 60% of a comparable 2 passenger car. Now that the Maranello asking prices have dropped back $40,000 to $50,000 from their peak he hasn't been willing to face the fact that he is only about $20,000 under what you can buy a nice Maranello for. I have a 1972 365GTC/4 and a1973 365GT4 2+2, They are exactly the same car except for the extra rear seats and the different body design. I just got the 365GTC/4 appraised for $365,000 but the 365GT4 is only worth about $85,000 so before I would pay over $80,000 for his car, value wise I would be better off buying another 550 Maranello even though I would like to have the F1 trans.
I've been putting off going down to look at the second one because it is Silver and has a brown interior. But I may go down and drive it next week.

Thanks for the perspective Chuck! Sounds like I'd like to live in your garage :)

Are you planning to sell your 3 pedal Maranello?

No sale on the 550. it is Yellow with Black interior and although it has 40,000 miles it is in like new condition and doesn't have a mark on it anywhere. Besides it is my wife's favorite car and she would never sign off on it. I figure the actual value to be about $120,000 so that is why I think the 612's are overpriced rite now.
I also have a 1973 Daytona that I've been rebuilding into a Spider with all original Ferrari parts that I am just finishing up.
We are in the process of doing some paint touch up and detailing on the 365GT4 2+2 getting it ready for sale to be replaced by the 612, but I don't want to sell it until I purchase a 612.
I am getting old and although the early F1 trans and clutchs seem to give some problems I'm tired of shifting gears. If the 550 shifted like the 365GTC/4 and 365GT4 I wouldn't mind it.

    Chuck,

I'd love to see some pics of the 2+2... I'd love to get a classic four seater some day!

BTW, here is a 612 I just came across from Switzerland at what seems a reasonable price, even after you figure in transportation.
