Hi all, I'm rebuilding a 2018 Ferrari 812 and on delivery the ECUs are both missing. Working to try and track them down, but in the meantime have sourced two used ECUs.
Question - does anyone know if an indy garage can reprogram the ECUs to my car? I'm based in the Bay Area and open to recommendations, not sure if car has to be with the ECUs to do this so, if not I can also mail them out.

    Appreciate any help!

(p.s. if anyone has leads on used parts for sale I would appreciate them too!)

I don't have any experience with the 812 specifically but this is how Bosch Motronic ECUs work in general.

    1) Once started they "pair" with the car's VIN number and other computers, such as the BCM and TCU.

    2) Any used ECUs you find would have to be set up as "virgin" ECUs that are ready to pair.

    3) I don't know if there are any additional steps on a Ferrari of this vintage due to the immobilizer?

    4) There may or may not be differences between the configuration file of the used ECUs and your car. Just FYI if there are this may lead to issues.

Thanks for that info! Have a few leads on shops that can help reprogram used ECU to the car, otherwise most are referring me back to Ferrari. One shop can program the VIN but is researching the immobilizer piece to see whats needed there,

My life would be so much easier if I can get the original ECUs and buy them back but so far no luck. My guess is because it was tuned and exhaust added, the previous owner/repair shop kept them to put in their next car or resell.
