What a sad situation and pretty hard to tell from that footage what actually happened. I am pretty certain I know who that is, and if it is who I am thinking, they have owned that 512tr for along time along with other cool stuff. Not someone I know to do silly or foolish stuff. Regardless, that really sucks.
I do not know all the details. It is the person who I thought. If he is on F chat, I have never seen him here. He has owned that TR for over 20 years. From what I understand, the impact was on the front corner going from one side to the next. I’m not sure who’s fault or what caused the accident
Looks "to me" like he entered the intersection, the truck got hit and spun, and it back up out of traffic lanes??? I don't think with parts prices this car will be repaired, maybe after CoPart handles it...
Have you put your car on "Stated Value" coverage?? Its really easy to total a 308/328....the front clip alone is a $8K part!!!
This happened a mile from my house; I can’t understand how this happened. The truck is on a much more trafficked road and past the intersection, the TR perpendicular to that. Perhaps the truck ran the red light? The TR street corner is blind, I can’t imagine he would have gone without stopping… Sad to watch
@ttn27 if you know him, please share his contact info(PM),would love to meet this neighbor. I have never seen a F40 around here, but regularly see a carrera GT
Don’t know him personally but know who he is. Heard that he is a very difficult person to deal with especially when it comes to servicing or repair of his cars.

is it my imagination or do we see more and more of these modern ferraris getting in accidents soon after purchase? imo, this is evidence that a lot of these buyers are first time supercar owners, unused to the power, and unskilled in how to control it. also why i always recommend that people take some driving lessons before getting into that new 600 bhp beast....
Any rwd with over 400rwhp has the potential to make you look stupid if you act like it I agree having a bit of track experience/ HPDE would probably be a good thing to invest in prior to getting into an exotic.
A little track experience/instruction would go a long ways for every driver, really. Should be standard part of driver development! As an aside, those of you with teens should look into "teen driving schools". MSRH puts one on, I think BMWCCA does, as well. I used to help with instruction and it was always amazing how hard it was to get people to use their brakes 100%.... if I could just get them to do that comfortably, I felt like it was a win.
This is exactly how I look at it. I did ONE track day in my 456M and learned some things I couldn't have learned any other way. Didn't get the bug for the track, though. I'm an open road kind of driver. But I know some things that could help in an emergency now. Going to do one in my 360 too, but again, just to learn a little more. Not buying a racing suit.
