DFW Ferrari and Exotic Spotters

Ariel Atom at 121/114 this afternoon just after lunch.. Wife and Daughter looked at me with bewilderment as I re-enacted Jeremy Clarkson's face-distorting test drive, yet then realized what car I was talking about..

Looked either black or blue with a splash of yellow.. Pretty cool to see one on the road. Probably the one mentioned earlier in the thread from Lewisville..

 

White 328 this morning on the George Bush headed West. Me. Great day for a drive, NO traffic.

 

I was surprised to see the cars come out on the lake this weekend. There was a red Lotus Espirit V8 passing through the Albertson's parking lot at 66 and Dalrock, a white or silver Bentley CGT leaving the hospital and driving down Scenic. Followed him to 30, he headed east. There was also a beautiful orange late 30's Chevy sedan at Dalrock and 66 headed towards Rockwall.

New red Viper turning onto 66 from Dalrock yesterday evening. And a dirty Merlot Mas Quatroporte this afternoon, around 2:45, at Inwood and LBJ.

 

Saw a Phantom on I-30 in Fort Worth

3 Bentleys in Knox/Henderson area (Flying Spur, GTC and Coupe)

White Gallardo Spyder on Lemmon

......not bad for dropping in for a day.

 

"safety" green Elise at lunch on 377 in Keller.

Red 360 on Keller Parkway before 6:00 this evening. Blond female behind the wheel.

And not an exotic, but I don't know what it was. No logos on the back or side. Looked like an older Chrysler minivan or some such thing with the middle section cut out. Only the front doors and maybe some storage in the back. Weird.

Silver Pbug GT3 southbound on I35 in Denton. Normally I wouldn't post a Pbug, but this one was pulling a trailer! If anyone knows the owner, I have some questions for him.

Black on Black (no stripe) Ford GT at Lovers and Preston this afternoon.. looked menacing without the stripe.. tag was BLK GT I think..

 

An interesting day for spotting.. running Em to Love for her flight home, here's my tally-

Bronze 246 Dino westbound on 30 around Loop 12.. windows down, looked like he was enjoying the day.

Stopped by Park Place to press my face on some windows.. and ran across a pair of CLK Black Series.. pics at the bottom, and a link to the album of shots I took.

Nice Conti GTC on a side street by Park Place..

and then, in Fort Worth as I was leaving Montgomery Plaza, a spot that will stick with me for a while, and left me smiling all the way home..

I hear a rumble of a manual gearbox being rowed with anger and see a dark car out of the corner of my eye, first thought was a Conti GT with an aftermarket exhaust. I come out of the building and turn onto 7th to see the tail end of a AM Vantage scooting westbound towards the 5-way at Camp Bowie.. car is making all kinds of good noise, and seems really loud as if it has an aftermarket exhaust.. I catch it at the light, and am sitting 2-3 cars back, just enjoying the view. Green light, car takes off onto Camp Bowie and is being really driven, someone seems to be having fun.. I end up behind it at the light by Amon Carter and notice in the side mirror a large hoop earring on the driver.. Cool.. a woman out exercising her AM.. light is green, and see roars off again. About a mile up the road, we are side by side at a light, and I look over to see the driver.. and I suddenly am grinning like an idiot. Luckily the driver, a woman possibly old enough to be my mother, didn't see me. To see an AARP card holder driving her Vantage in the proper manner really made my day..

Wow. Thanks for taking the time to take those photos and post them. I've heard absolutely insane performance numbers on those cars. That thing has more curves than Marilyn Monroe. I need to get down there and see those.

 

Black Gallardo on Mayhill Road in Denton around 11 today. Not really the place one would expect to see that car.

 

Red 360 spider on 635 westbound around I35 about 1:30.

Blue Maserati spider westbound on I20 around Arlington about 4:00.

 

Monterey Blue Murcielago or LP640 at a red light as we were driving down Inwood. The driver looked like Terry Bradshaw's buddy from that show he's on... the white guy with glasses and the flat top hair style. Sorry, I'm not a sports fan...

 

I'm thinkin' he may answer to "Bubba". Or maybe "Howie". Sticking with "Bubba", either way.

Out towards Eagle Mtn. Lake yesterday afternoon exercising the Boxer, and on the way back to town ran across a Black Gallardo Spyder, top up (WTF??!!!!!), with Okie plates, just ahead as we both took the Southbound 820W to Eastbound I-30 ramp. OK plates mean it wasn't Ken coming back from the lake, so I wonder if it might be the same that Tillman saw in Denton earlier.

It's odd having someone else at close to eye-level in the Boxer.

 

About half an hour ago at a parking lot near the corner of O'Connor and Rochelle, I saw a tall, attractive blonde who was being temporarily detained by three of Irving's finest with cherry tops spinning... she was standing behind a Red 360 Modena with white writing in shoe polish on the rear glass engine cover (maybe it was for sale or something?)

By the time I flipped a u turn to see what was going on, she was in the 360, driving away as the cops stood there talking to each other.

 

I saw an interesting black mid-80s Lotus Espirit northbound on the tollway on Sunday.

Silver Bentley Continental GT heading westbound 183 near North East Mall.

 

Between noon and one today...a silver Aston Martin Vantage turning north onto Dallas Parkway from Spring Valley, a yellow F430 on Frankfurt and the Tollway, and a yellow Gallardo moving south on the Tollway.

 

Blue late-model Bentley 'vert in the Southlake Town Center today around noon.

In Oklahoma City 4 the game and visiting family. Stopped at my sister's shop at N.W. 27th and Janeway, and right in front of me was a black murci. Looked weird between all the trucks.

 

Around 2:30, Black BMW Z8 Alpina with the top down at the corner of University Dr turning east to 7th Street.

20 minutes later on White Settlement Rd just passed Carroll Ave, Yellow Lotus Elise parked in front of a body shop supply company.
