A red Maserati Grand Turismo parked next to me this afternoon at Neiman Marcus, I was humbled.
Yellow 512M, Red Testarossa, 2 black 430's, one with shields, not sure about the other. Charcoal Vantage with a beautiful terra cotta interior (sorry I forgot the true name of the colors), Black M6 EVOSPORT, Black Austin Healey 3000, Cream colored Lancia with foreign vanity plate on front, amazing blue Gallardo with paper plates, silver 360 Modena, another silver 360, a weird, weird, fugly green Z3 with Dinan add ons (only mentioned for humor here, starbucks attendees will know). Numerous others that I failed to remember because my brain was overloaded. Besides the weather, it was a great day of cars and friends. I cant wait to do it again! I will have some of my crappy cellphone pics up soon
A few pics from Starbucks and the Rimshine(sp?) show... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Black Viper with some pretty nice chromed aftermarket wheels in the Tom Thumb shopping center at 66 and Dalrock this afternoon. Then around 5 or 6, a burgundy Maser QP with what looked like GT grille, turning onto Buckner, southbound, from Mockingbird.
My dad saw a red Lingenfelter Z06 the other day... have a pic if anyone is interested. It was the older generation, plus I saw the R8 again this morning but it had a green light so I couldn't catch it. I heard it before I saw it though. Someday I'll catch it again. A friend also saw a grey Elise at firewheel...
Saw a beautiful blue 348 spider in Lewisville yesterday, sitting out front of 4M Paint and Body. I was there seeking the expertise of Jano and Raffi, and they came up with a plan to save an out of work ditchdigger some $ on his daughters QX4 repair. Thanks guys!
A few spots today. here are some of my famous crappy pics. These were all at NorthPark. The Merc isn't exotic, but was heavily modded (blinged?) and still had paper plates. I also forgot that on Saturday at Starbucks, 2 Maser QP's, one with massive blingin wheels, both dark blue or black, and a spankin new Red R8 passed by as I was leaving (right before the hood of the yellow 512 was opened) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yesterday, on I30 at Zion, heading into Dallas, a burgundy (seems loike a popular color lately...) Bentley CGT, an then a little while later, a silver Bentley CGT at 66 and Scenic in Rowlett. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Silver Maser GranTurismo on 377 in Granbury yesterday afternoon, and a black GranTurismo on Clifford in White Settlement last night.. These might replace the Bentley GT as the "common exotic" that fills this thread..
GT500 Super Snake at Firewheel Mall... I've done my research and this is not the GT500KR, but the Super Snake... the giveaways are no shelby writing on the hood, the black window cover on the side window, and a single flat black stripe. I know it isn't exotic, just rare. The other day I saw a Lorinser S500 for the 2nd time, don't know how rare that one is Oh and a Citroen D Special, but I'm not gonna waste your time with pics Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've seen that Super Snake, but never noticed it was more than a GT500. Great spot for the area! As for the Citroen, there are some of us (me) that like those, please share the pics if you have any!
Two Lotus Elise's today... one on S Garland Ave. near Kingsley... one of those used car dealerships on the side of the road has a nice red Elise for sale... another out past Mesquite somewhere. Then an M6 and about 5 other older BMW's on a trailer, but they were all dirty/dusty... C63 AMG, Challenger SRT8, etc. Nothing really exotic. Here's the Citroen! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I've seen that Citroen before. Cool spot, regardless of its condition. Also great spot on the Super Snake.
They were a fairly common sight around here in the 60's and 70's, definite space ship mystique about them in those days. This is the first one I've seen in a long time. Agree, it's nice to see one still up and running.
There's a white one a few blocks from me - very good condition, too. Owner takes it out fairly regularly, and my like-minded friends and I get a kick out of seeing it, slow as it is from stops. DEFINITELY a pleasant break from all of the SUVs.
I will spare the models, but they were all at once, at the same lot where I happened to valet my car ( Nordstroms, Northpark ). The black Lambo (small pic, sorry!)had dealer plates and blingin' wheels, and the Bentley had dealer plates as well. The T-Rex is the one that was spotted a few weeks back I assume... Thanks for the pic of the Citro! I will definately have to keep an eye out for that one. I love the unique cars.... Well...I was born in 1984, so I wasn't around to see them in the 70s I really would like to see a Renault 2CV "Dolly" in person locally. I was quite a few in Paris several years ago.
Hey 512, what is the black Lambo... Gallardo or Diablo? Here's a Lingenfelter Z06 and another pic of the Audi R8; still haven't got a good one, there was a dang bus in front of me today Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
We codgers are a window to the past. If I've seen a 2CV here, it was only once or twice, but used to see as many of the Dauphine 4-doors as VW bugs.
It was a spankin new Gallardo with blacked out taillights. The Diablo is lower and wider... I've seen the ZO6 around here many times, but I thought it just had a few add ons, not a full Lingenfelter. I will have to ask the 'vette guys on Thursday when I see them....Oh, I like how you have a bloodlust for the R8 I'm sure you will get the pic you're wanting soon enough...
There are a couple of the black/carbon srt's rolling around Dallas. I know a guy out here that has one of them. They are nice, but I'd rather have a 328 or a 348 for half the price of the Challenger. I think the challenger needs to be refined a little before I consider getting one.
It says Lingenfelter above Z06... idk if it's a full one though. I guess I need to use the flash next time... I'm thinking about videotaping it and pulling out frames lol. I can't seem to get a good pic. It looked good on my camera, but I guess I just couldn't stop staring at it. The only R8 I've ever seen in the wild and the first day I saw it... gosh I just remember clearing my eyes a couple times! grey F430 Spider at Autoflex in Richardson.
