The 2022 as I stated. They cleaned up the bodies alot in 2022 and got rid of all the horrid aero tabs.

I'm glad they are back to LeMans, for sure. However, I can also comment on the ugly - and frankly very conservative appearance of the car. with the Cammo it looks like last year's Acura or Cadillac and or IMSA cars ... so forgive me if I was expecting a more radical and state-of-the-art shape given that they have had almost two years of development time... their last LeMans car - the 333 was beautiful and also a winner until BOP ( restricted ) came into the fold.

I think the reality of the situation - and call me cynical is that the budget cap in F-1 means you can't keep spending crazy on F-1 ( for the record ) so to keep everyone they are doing the LeMans car - but who is to say the actual design and development time is really for the LeMans car and not for F-1 - you cant stop tech bleed over ... and we have already seen that its testing at Fiorano - unfettered testing....
If I remember right Ferrari took PH Money back in 83- 84 for drivers' salary and allowed them the Marlboro patch on the driver's uniform and the small logo with driver's name. after he died - PH got more and more involved.

That had nothing to do with aesthetics. It had everything to do with cleaning the aero flow, so the following car would be less disturbed by the dirty air, thus being able to follow and attack more easily.

    Regulations, regulations, regulations.

They had alot of pushback from fans about the look of the cars in the last few years. They cleaned the cars for airflow but they also made them look better. The last part was not by accident.

Well, actually there is a minimum cockpit size, and even a minimum space for a passenger. Probably there is more room in these cars than in something from the 70s, but the waist line is lower and the driving position is higher, so the cockpit looks higher and narrower.

The other seem to be going V6/V8 around there 3- 3.5L if my understanding is correct. I think it will be a race version of the 296 V6 with additional F1 tech etc

Self-righteous Much !!. Talk to people with respect or don't waste our time posting.

That's is your point of view and you have a right to it as do I have to mine. Earlier in the thread people were talking about having to deal with the ugly talk on its looks that was my reply. I could careless what people think. As for F1 the F1-2001 is a nice car but to me the 312T is much more beautiful. Current if F1s are dogs dinners. (TO ME) When you truly mature as a person, which everyone does at a different point in their lives you see things very differently. Your judging a car before you have seen it in final race form and your judging from your own person opinion. LIFE LESSON ITS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU.
Spectator that's your problem right there. I love motorsport its a passion and I am a fan and a massive Ferrari fan (not a spectator) so to see them back at LM after 50 years all that's important from a true fan is that they are there giving it 120% as the class matures and they get use to the new Rules & Regs the car will become more attractive.

    I'm sorry but, what?!?

You're the one who compared my thoughts to that of a child. So before you shake your fist at me about talking with respect, perhaps you should take a step back, look in the mirror, and get back to us.

If you could care less why are you engaging in the discussion?!? Obviously you care what people think otherwise you wouldn't take the time to respond.

The 312T was great, so was the F1-2001. The 2010's were dogs, they look better now. But I thought you didn't care about that stuff, that's all for children, right?!?

Yes, I'm judging a car based on a camo'ed mule (maybe a mule, maybe not), which often turn out to be nicer once the wraps come off. If the presented car looks great, I'll be happy. If an ugly car wins, I'll be happy to but I'll still call it ugly.

OK, OK, man, you're a true fan and I'm just a spectator. Whatever bud. I've been following Ferrari for a long time, I'm a big time fan, I reserve the right to opine about how the cars look. I'm sure you won't mind.

This is actually less about Ferrari and more about the specs for the class. They could be massaged a bit.

Anyway, the specs for the class are actually as free as they have ever been since the early 70s. And I quite like the car.

I am all down for discussing one on one or in a group. My child comment is just aimed at those that go its ugly what don't engage or discuss past that. A word vs a comment or a statement the details or reasons matter. largely I couldn't care less, but that doesn't mean that I do not have my own likes and dislike either and feeling. We all feel on everything around us, part of being human some choose not to let everything affect them. Don't worry about the things you can't change does not mean you don't have any feelings or opinion of the subject. at the end of the day we are both big fans (that poke was a little mean on my part, sorry) We can't change the past so lets just move forward... I think as I said before once the class matures and proves itself alot will change. I read somewhere yesterday that the class is limited to 670hp for 2023 that can't be right can it? Anyways all the best and sorry for any offense.. Simon
