I'm pretty sure Dave's right and that it's 1999...
I'm changing my answer to November 2000, to be exact. http://70.85.40.84/~ferrari/discus/messages/251280/3670.html
I think you're correct as to the month - unfortunately the question was "What YEAR was Fchat formed?"
rats.. turns out i woulda got it... 2 minutes. my nerves cant take it... is this where i pull my computer around Miltonian's and drive into the side of his, only to bounce off into the gravel?... GT
2000 is indeed the correct year. I believe the exact day that it launched was November 27, 2000, though Rob will have to confirm. PSP gets the point which moves him up to second place. Very close. Miltonian - 7 points ferrariartist - 7 points PSP - 6 points Gerald - 5 points vur - 4 points FarmerDave - 4 points NNO - 3 points Wayne - 3 points peteskie - 2 points Darkhorse575 - 2 points Pranucci - 1 point BlackRX7Turbo - 1 point iceburns288 - 1 point Webby - 1 point scuderia15 - 1 point thepinkumbrella - 1 point YellowbirdRS - 1 point Round 51...These engines in these cars have a bore and stroke of 82x78mm. Name three of these models.
Since tomorrow is the final day of this contest, I propose a "final exam" of 5 questions be given to all of the contestants at a pre-announced time. The official answers would be due on or before a specific time with the answers sent by private message rather than posted in the open. This should eliminate the "luck" factor given to the first one to see the question (I've benefitted twice from that already)
or we could just skip all that and just give me the mug now and call it a day... just kidding.... sounds like a cool idea. GT
OK, Look at posts 398 and 399.... PSP edited his post after post 399 was made... I think ferrariartist deserves that point. That needs to be a standing rule... if you edit a post AFTER another person has posted, the edited post is invalidated.
If you want to give the points to ferrariartist, that's fine. I only edited for grammar, spelling, etc. Sometimes I start with one thought and change thoughts halfway through but forget to change the first part to match the second part until after I hit "Submit" - then I realize that I look like an idiot posing something that nonsensical, so I go back and edit it. EDIT - Perfect example. It should be POSTING, not posing Oh well
thats OK... we are all on the honour system here... and i dont believe someone here would deceive. i hit the ol' edit button for the same reasons.. fix spelling and such... seconds count now, and you try to get the answer down as fast, and more importantly, as complete as possible. For instance, that last question i misread and thought he only asked for 2 cars. After i noticed that he wanted 3, i restarted my heart and edited in the third car, luckily before the next post. its a mug people. not the proverbial F430. lets stay friends here... GT
no.. 'fraid not... that was just a cruel rumor. however if someone were to offer, say, a 1988 Testarossa noone would stop him... (; GT
Somehow I don't see my wife letting that happen - but I could be wrong... BTW, your art is quite impressive. Everyone should check it out!
Among others are the 412 and 512 BB. The 365 GT4 2+2 is 81x71. Dave, very good point. I agree that should be a rule from now on, so if you want the post to count DON'T edit it! I think Patrick is being honest about his post, so I'll let him keep the point especially since Grant doesn't mind. Good idea about the 5 questions, however I think I am just going to do the luck thing for the time being as it mixes it up, plus that's how the competition has been run the entire time. We can later have a discussion about how this should all work next go around. ferrariartist - 8 points Miltonian - 7 points PSP - 6 points Gerald - 5 points vur - 4 points FarmerDave - 4 points NNO - 3 points Wayne - 3 points peteskie - 2 points Darkhorse575 - 2 points Pranucci - 1 point BlackRX7Turbo - 1 point iceburns288 - 1 point Webby - 1 point scuderia15 - 1 point thepinkumbrella - 1 point YellowbirdRS - 1 point Round 52...What is the significance of 135441?
Patrick you are good my friend. Although it is officially named the Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina. More information can be found at http://www.ferrarip45.com. If anyone has additional pics/videos PM me! I am updating the site as we speak. ferrariartist - 8 points Miltonian - 7 points PSP - 7 points Gerald - 5 points vur - 4 points FarmerDave - 4 points NNO - 3 points Wayne - 3 points peteskie - 2 points Darkhorse575 - 2 points Pranucci - 1 point BlackRX7Turbo - 1 point iceburns288 - 1 point Webby - 1 point scuderia15 - 1 point thepinkumbrella - 1 point YellowbirdRS - 1 point Round 53...Time for something a little harder. In 1955 a young driver wanted to drive for Ferrari, however Enzo did not want him. He asked why he did not want him and Enzo simply replied by mailing him two photographs. Who was the driver and what did the photographs depict?
Hmmm, I can't find anything on this, so I'll guess. For the driver, how about rich, young (22), Italian Ludovico Scarfiotti? For the two photographs, how about two other star Italian drivers of the period, Castellotti and Musso?
Ohh..a tough question . I like it. May make this one a two pointer if noone gets it right by later today sometime.
Mike Hawthorn and the photos was for the 24 hours of Le Mans race, despite being involved in the crash that killed 80 spectators.
