Technically, this is NOT a correct answer. Trintignant won the 1957 Coupe Internarionale de Vitesse in a 156 Formula Two Ferrari S/N 0011. The question specified Formula One! Point should go to Ferrari 360 CS even if he did misspell Trintgnant.
I gave my answer in two posts. The first one stated that it was the location "Luigi Chinetti's dealership in Manhattan." Does that need explaining?
Sorry Gerald, I deliberately left the Formula stipulation open to see what the guys would do... heres the question again - "Who is this distinguished driver of Ferrari? Name one formula race he won in Ferrari." so a Formula Two race qualifies INDEED. Points standings remain as follows per our count: NNO - 2 points vur - 2 points Darkhorse575 - 2 points Pranucci - 1 point Gerald - 1 point Cheers Gerald! Vur next question for the FAT please...
Actually yes it does. I want the answers to be specific enough to allow new Ferrari afficiandos to learn a bit about Ferrari and their history, I had no idea who Luigi Chinetti was at first. I'll let it slide, but in the future I'm going to be a stickler. Also, although I wasn't specific enough in the question, I was looking for "Luigi Chinetti Motors" which was the first Ferrari distributor in America. For more information, albeit brief, on Chinetti you can check out the Wikipedia article on him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luigi_Chinetti. I'm sure others will suggest good books. On that note.. NNO - 2 points vur - 2 points Gerald - 2 points Darkhorse575 - 1 point Pranucci - 1 point Round 9..Staying on the Chinetti theme, his dealership sold this car..name it and what is the S/N? You would've normally got a point, but I did not ask the question. Only questions by me are awarded points to keep things simple. Great question though, and thanks for the answer! If anyone else has any good Ferrari trivia questions feel free to PM me and I'll probably use it (you'd be excluded from that round of course..)
: ) Gerald - sure you get 2 points - and the last question (with the Chinetti car pic) that Townshend asked needs to be tallied as well Ferrarichat Trivial Pursuit v. 1.0 is fun (newbie asks - is this ver 1.0 or has this been done?) - we need more questions please! vur
And you shall receive a point . NNO - 2 points vur - 2 points Gerald - 2 points Darkhorse575 - 1 point Pranucci - 1 point FarmerDave - 1 point Round 10..Trying to think of a harder question that wouldn't be so easy to figure out, so here's my attempt. What significance does this symbol have in regards to Ferrari? Image Unavailable, Please Login
actually yes Darkhorse575 has 2 points...one for id'ing John Surtees and one for id'ing Maurice Trintignant wow Townshend thats an exotic symbol - reminds me of Tintin and King Ottokar's Sceptre...haha
Valid question. Only reason is because I can easily keep track of it plus it helps keep the thread organized. If everyone started asking questions and awarding people points chaos could ensue. Although I do encourage different questions asked for fun, but only answering my questions will be awarded the FChat mug.
No, not this year... But Gerald will be there... You should know that this entire office has ground to a halt in an attempt to find the origin and subsequent relation of your picture to Ferrari... I, myself, in the heat of frustration, have resorted to a big piece of chocolate cake to calm my nerves... How about another question while we wait for the answer to your last one...?
Yes, a hint would be most welcome... If you only knew the combination of words and phrases we've Googled, along with the number of books that lay open on the office floor... Aaron, there are currently no available positions, but I'm sure if I continue to spend this much time on FerrariChat, there will be...
