Enzo Ferrari publically stated that "13 world championships have been the result of this happy association." Association with whom, and what year was this said?
in a 1966 ad for Shell Oil the text is a "letter" written by Enzo explaining his being pleased with their product. GT Image Unavailable, Please Login
I found the same basic Shell ad in the January 1964 issue of Car & Driver. The text reads "Thirteen world championships have been the result of this happy association with Shell." So Ferrari must have made the statement in 1963 (or earlier?).
While not the most convincing answer of the contest, it is correct. The statement comes from an ad that first appeared in 1963 and refers to Shell. Very impressive, though, I'm surprised this answer was discovered so quickly. dangit... i found out that it was the ad, and i narrowed it down to 1963 or 1966 so i basically made a 50-50 guess. wrong guess. ): GT
It was a very close guess, but in that ad the number was changed from 13 to 14. Very slight difference, I know .
thanks for the offer my friend... i play by the rules as well, and i wasnt asking for any gift points... i was just expressing just how close i was... but close only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades... GT
