While reading the Newspaper (Stuttgarter Nachrichten) this morning I found a funny article about a Ferrari driver in Belgium. I translated the article for you (as good as i can ): Ferrari driver drives 2 times through radar unit The Ferrari driver drove with 150 km/h instead of 70 km/h through a radar unit in Lier, Belgium reported the Het Laatse Nieuws. The driver turned around and his passenger showed a 500 bill when they were lightened the second time. Later the driver was found by the police in front of a disco. He could keep his driverslicence because he lives in Monaco. Martin
Yes, indeed, this article was on the frontpage of the newspaper I work for yesterday. It brought to the attention that EVERY foreign driver or driver with a foreign licence can drive as fast as he/she wants in Belgium. If the police snaps you they can only give you a fine (in this case 300 euro, someone with a Belgian registration should pay much much more in the same situation and immediately lose his licence!) Police CAN take away your foreign driver's license BUT, according to the Belgian traffic law, they MUST give it back to you on simple request. If so the foreign driver must promise he leaves Belgium territory as soon as possible... I'm really not making this up... this is reality! According to the reporter this is also true for a Belgian driver in a foreign country BTW. Simply because there isn't a European traffic law yet, this way police only have right of speak in their own country. The way this Ferrari driver acted upset many people in this country... I'm worried this kind of incident could give Ferrari drivers a bad name
"La Rocca"????????? mmmmmmmmmm............could tell 100's of stories here...........but my wife is reading here too
Yep............ and I am thinking. I knew the DJ, in the early 90's.............but can't remember his name anymore. He was a dutch guy from Axel, a very small town in Zeeland. I was together with him in the army. We had some weird times.......................
sounds like a good place to have next years rally then. But unfortunately the Belgian drivers would have to be in the rear of the pack!!
