Love it! I should know this, but does your 400 have power steering?

Well, I did have someone I was working with one day see my Porsche Boxster in the parking lot and say, "Is that your BMW?" I guess I could just say a 360 is a Trans Am.

I used to daily my F355 now I'm driving it about 3 days a week. Money is tight right now and clutch & 30k are coming up in the next 10-15k miles so I'm taking it easy until biz picks back up.

Right you are! I have had my Ferrari for a little over a year, and my boss and co-workers know nothing about it. If they did, I'd never get another raise, and be treated differently - for all the wrong reasons.

What'd ya do this weekend? Nothing special. How was yours?

Cool! That ranks up there with Nick Mason, who has written about using his 250GTO to take his kids to school one snowy day when the Land Rover wouldn't start.

Yup - all 400s have power steering. Mine also has the dual AC option which means it is plenty cold in the summer - and they all have good heat so plenty warm in the winter.

I once had a couple of guys give me a really hard time at a gas station about putting Ferrari badges on my "Fiat" - seriously. The plate on my 400i didn't help in this situation, I guess (or these guys had not sense of humour).

Um, me and a couple friends were wondering if the bridge behind your Fiat was for sale? Hey! Why'd ya put Ferrari taillights on your Fiat?

It's funny how people think if you have a nice car you should make LESS money. I've never understood the logic in that. I mean the guy who drives a Honda Accord clearly has fewer expenses than the one in the 430.

There's an F430 Spyder that's being driven daily by its owner here in Burnaby, BC. I guess he owns the greek restaurant on Kingsway as I see the Spyder there on a daily basis, rain or shine! I think he might even be the same guy that parks it out curbside, overnight!

Or no knowledge of the company history.

At least they knew what a Fiat is. I've had a couple of people -- including my insurance agent -- ask was an "Alfa" was. They'd never heard of Alfa Romeo.

I've gotten harassed a couple of times by people who couldn't believe that my EVO was stock. One who was certain that much of it had to be aftermarket, and another group who couldn't understand why I *hadn't* modified it. ;)

The insurance agent had never heard of an "EVO" either, but I really feel sorry for the people trying to explain to their insurance that their car is a "Wrecks". (WRX). :p

I once overheard someone telling his friend that my 328 was a "Tester Rosser".

I had a guy with a tilt-bed truck ask, "Wanna swap?". I didn't have the heart to tell him that the luxo-SUV he was hauling cost more than my "little Fiat". :D

Now, hang on. I think some people missed this comment, but I don't think I can agree.

"Cars that old [87] are not dependable"

While my mother would agree with you, she would also state that Ferrari's are not reliable, having no knowledge of the cars at all.
I, however, can not agree with you. I often find myself buying a "new" car that is older than 1990. I am looking at a BMW currently that is an 87.
I have owned at least 12 cars that were made in the 80's. All of them had their quirks, and all of them were fun. Sure, some people don't take care of their
80's model cars. I, however, rather like the 80's models, and usually prefer that year over the new stuff. I assume that it all comes down to preference.

I like the 430's, but I think the 308 looks better. I also think the 70's model Porches' look better than their modern counterparts. The 930 "Whale tale" is my favorite.

For continuity, I have never understood why all the Ferrari owners in the area buy cars and put them in a barn. I live in Kentucky, land of the horse farm.
Some of these people have more money than they know what to do with. So they buy cars and treat them like horses; one use, then sell.
I saw a 308 for sale once; $99,000. I decided against it because it only had 400 miles on it. I agree with all of the previous posters that cars, especially
Ferrari's were built to be driven.

My Gransport also made an excellent DD in Chicago until last November, when I relieved it of this duty. No point wasting a great car in horrid commuter traffic.

cars are built to be driven, ferraris are cars. Therefore, they were built to be driven ;)

In 02 I had a brand new Audi, I think it came with 1.8 'port' miles on it. At 300 miles it broke down, which took about a week. It then broke down every two weeks. In fact, I got use to some noise or light in the car that I would stop taking it in right away. I sold an eighties carrera and leased that piece of crap brand new audi sedan. What a mistake, the audi was sooo bad that when i finally returned it the dealer called me to tell me that a light was on. I told them they inspected it, repaired it, and accepted it back. It was thier problem now.

Almost 2 years ago, I got my f-328. My mechanic did the major and other stuff. I use to average about 1000 miles a month on it, now its less for other reasons. It has been a great daily driver. In fact, f-chaters that have seen it know it is a daily driver because it is dirty from use.

    cheers

    Really?

I call putting 23K miles on my 430 in 24 months daily driving. I also have a 997 TT and I drive that a tenth as much as the 430.

I aint lying and I certainly have not lost the fun factor.
