I can find no evidence that Ferrari has a presence at the show. Can anyone validate whether or not Ferrari will be there? I was planning on attending but if Ferrari isn't going to be there, I may well just pass on it.

At the Ferrari factory tour in 2013, They said all Cars were already sold before the start of build. If so, why display at car show?

I think Ferrari Corporate may display a new model at the Geneva show. Otherwise I believe any appearances at other shows are sponsored by a local dealer.

Ferrari hasn't been at NY show in years, its very disappointing. I was there yesterday and Manhattan Motors brought a Lambo, Bugatti etc, but no Fcars. With the amount of people that go to that show it's amazing they wouldn't put a car or 2 there with the Maseratis.

When Ferrari did display the cars were vandalized routinely and I'm sure created nothing but a massive headache for FNA what with the costs and the ridiculous union problems. I can't imagine why ANY niche car company would bother with any US show.

One would think that a local dealership or two would sponsor a couple of Ferraris there, but since they don't, it must not be economically feasible.

Not to be all argumentative and stuff but how does that benefit them at all? Car shows don't sell Ferraris.

Not to be argumentative, but you're wrong. :)

Car shows sell dreams, and a Ferrari is a dream. I used to read books about salesmanship, and some times you sell something and don't make the transaction for years.

Yeh and the ex-Ferrari NA guy wrote his thesis (and a book) on the subject. The link between the floor of the Javitz Center and selling a Ferrari years down the road is tenuous at best.

This, 12 year old goes to the car show with Dad and spots a Ferrari ......BOOM....hooked ;)
Right there the kid makes a decision, one day I am going to own one of those.
Ear to ear smile, it may take him 10-20 years to buy one but the decision was made long ago.
Next step, the poster or model in his room.......or both ;)

Our local dealer still brings cars to our “big” auto show, when you have 30-40 (in your collection) its not a big deal.

I don't think it's really to sell a Ferrari. It certainly promotes the brand, but as a Ferrari Maserati dealer I would definitely bring a Ferrari or 2 to grab some attention for the Maserati. The lines at Manhattan Motors to see the Lambo and Bugatti were 6 deep. You can't tell me that Maserati wouldn't love to get some of that attention. My wife was with me and she even commented that if I drove the 458 onto the floor there people would crowd all around it.

At our Vancouver Auto Show there was many Ferraris but they were roped off and there was representatives from the dealer standing there. No vandalism just a bunch of people taking pictures. There was also two Buggattis, Five Rolls Royces, maybe six Lamborghinis, etc. Then again Vancouver is now called luxury car capital of the world.

Similar to Vancouver I assume, the Dallas Auto Show had some great Fcars from the local club/dealers (330, testarossa, dino, etc) in a roped off section. We posted a video on our Facebook. I don't know why NY doesn't do this.
