    Hello:

First a confession. When I bought my Mondial in January I went through all of the paperwork, tools, etc. that came with the car. While doing so I came across a copy of a music CD. It wasn't my taste, so I trashed it.

A few weeks later, I decided to try out the car's Sony Eclipse stereo. Hmm. Insert Security Disk. I wonder what that message is? Google. Oh, crap. The stupid stereo, instead of having an unlock code like every other stereo in the world uses a CD as the PIN. If the power is disconnected from the stereo one must insert the previously designated CD into the unit to unlock it. I'm betting dollars to donuts that the CD I had thrown away was the key. Oh, well. I didn't like how the Sony looked in the car anyway. Really, I didn't.

I ended up purchasing a Ferrari/Becker stereo off of eBay for $180. (I was told that the stereo came out of an early 360.) I ordered the wiring harness from Becker (around $18 - no Ferrari tax) and bought a antenna adapter for the radio from Wal-Mart of all places (less than $7.) Removing the old stereo and installing the new one only took an hour or so. Attached are a couple of photos of the stereo in the car. I'll probably never turn it on, but I really like how the radio looks in the car.

I'm thinking about going ahead and removing the rest of the carpets and giving them a good cleaning. I've searched FerrariChat and read where others have recommended simply using Woolite or some other common product. Does this sound right? How about steam cleaning?

    Thanks.
