Last year I read Steve Jobs from Walter Isaacson. It's à biography about Steve Jobs. Mostly about his career and management decisions. Is there some kind of similar book about Enzo Ferrari or Luca di Montezemelo?

Dozens of books exist about Enzo Ferrari and also about Luca di Montezemolo! All sorts of languages. Suggest Google, ebay and Amazon.
Or Hortons Books in the UK.

There are not many books per se on Enzo Ferrari the Man.... lots that have bits and parts of his life.

Brock Yates Book Enzo Ferrari - Biography is about the best one in English out there. there is also one by Gino Rancanit - not great it was a direct from italian translation and is hard to follow & tedious...

Then there are Enzo's own books Le Me Goi Terrribli ( my terrible joys)
& Piloti Che gente -Drivers I knew... both are expsnsive to buy as they are not very numerous..

I'm sure there are some in other languages... Franco Gozzi's book about Ferrari is excellent but again its a direct Italian translation so its very flowerly translation.

The Yates book - ugh. On the surface, it may seem to be the most thoroughly researched bio of Enzo, but it is literary "tabloid-ism", AT BEST.

The book is littered with innuendos and outright accusations, which are usually followed right up with a statement like, "But there is no evidence to support this..." (or words to that effect). Then why the H*** did you bring it up????? Jeesh!

There is an *EXCELLENT* review of this book in the FCA mag, Prancing Horse, back in the early 100's (issue number) which clearly calls out, by page number, many of these "tabloidy" statements. If Yates had left this garbage out of the book, it would have been half as long (I'm guessing).

Darn shame that a writer of Yates' caliber sinks to such depths. Read the book if you must, but keep in mind that half of it is fiction.

    FWIW. YMMV. etc....

I've read many Ferrari biographies and have found the Richard Williams book the most scholarly, especially with respect to the early days.

Don't know if the Yates book is something for me then. The bad translation could be irritating.

Is it about his personal life or does it also have a focus on his business life (like the development of several models and business decisions)?

I hear what you are saying - I've read the book several times and its a best guess / excerpts from people he was dealing with. so there is a lot of opinion... for me it was done close to when he was alive so the people closest were still around.

there was a great article in Cavalino from his personal driver - the later years after peppino was gone... from what he said and what yates says - pretty close. fact is Ferrari was reclusive - we know he liked women - Lina Lardi etc... but really not much else about the Man him self.

    Cars,
    Sex,
    food
wine... kind of like most of us. oh yea - he liked to get his way... that is about all you need to know about Enzo Ferrari.

There's a few books about Enzo, but they tend to be statements of fact rather than descriptions of his management decisions. The new Forghieri book is the nearest that I have read. Forghieri explains some of the engineering and technical decisions made by Ferrari, and a lot of it was down to lack of money. It's in English and Italian but again the English translation is a bit stilted. Interesting though.

Thank you! Does it also include the more business decisions?

Not really. It is more towards the racing and technical side which is what Forghieri was involved in. I doubt if anyone could write about the business decisions, as I guess EF made them all, and probably after discussion with only a select group, many of which are no longer with us, or won't discuss it.
