Ferrari Boxer BB BBi rear clamshell

This Boxer clamshell wears original black paint (as far as anyone can possibly determine). It is mostly straight except for damage to upper right, that was lightly tapped out. It still ‘clamped’ to the car, able to open, shut and align.

I have owned this for the last 3 or so years, it has been stored inside for the duration. There is minor pitting at the bottom inside of the right bottom section (about 7/8 of an inch long, NOT ‘through&#8217. The gas cap is something I merely added, not included, only to fill the gap.

This is a clean piece of this ever rapidly appreciating car. As more of these get restored to higher levels, replacement prices will certainly increase as supplies dry up. I just paid $12,000 for a complete front bonnet on a far more produced Jaguar E type (roughly 10x the production figures). The last known OEM price in Ferrari parts supplies was ‘around’ $25,000.

Looking for offers on this. I am moving my garage and cars to another location and thought it was a great time to clean house! Makes a phenomenal ‘art piece’ or invaluable spare.

By 'number', did you mean 'Where did this price come from?" If so, it came from my head full questionable recall. It was quoted somewhere, some time ago, and possibly from a totally unreliable source.

Yet considering the market and having seen $900 distributor caps, $3500 owner's manuals and $4,000 tool sets, this part could be a bargain. I have two offers from kind and patient people, both under $10k but getting closer. Again, I'm not in love with moving it to my new location. Don't make me turn it into a tacky sofa!

 

I have been known to overlook the obvious! Thanks. If I can be instructed where exactly to look, am happy to get a glimpse. Not the easiest piece to maneuver, though it is FAR lighter than you'd imagine. (The E Type bonnet weighs more than a piano... filled with cannonballs.)
