So, after almost a month of ownership, I have gotten to drive the car a lot over the holiday weekend and enjoy it. I have noticed something, and was curious if its just me.

Nobody wants to get on my tail. Folks are at least a full car length, if not 2 or 3. Drove the car into work today, and even in DFW rush hour traffic, I had empty space around me. It was noticeable, and I never get this in the other cars.

    Is it just me?

You'll get 2 reactions from most

    1) gotta stay AWAY from that thing!
    2) I'm gonna get RIGHT NEXT to it for the photo!

There's also the full idiot reaction: I'm gonna wheelie my bike next to it and bait the Ferrari into a race!

Totally opposite reaction for me! Seems like everyone on the road just has to pass the Ferrari.

I find it funny how many people are hellbent on not letting you merge. Especially when can tell they are absolutely wringing out their Altima/Kia/Nissan truck to stay ahead of you or close the gap on you... Maybe I just notice it more.

    LOL! It's totally opposite!

Don't forget the formidable Prius! Occasional Tesla (which might be able to). Typically the lowest of the low end cars!

Same here, I just can’t seem to get away. I’ve definitely noticed that red cars attract police, kids, and the occasional chemically imbalanced person. Meanwhile, the blues, silvers, and blacks tend to draw in the curious types who slowly walk over and ask questions.

What really drives me crazy, though, is the parking lot. I can park a mile away from the store, all alone, and when I come back there’s always a car parked right next to mine. Every single time. Makes me nuts.

Oh, I have had a few of the late 90's Hondas with two or three tone paintjobs, one usually primer grey, fart can exhaust and the wing of the space shuttle stuck to the trunk that have made it their life's mission to pass me. Its pretty amusing. :D

My experience is most Ferraris vettes etc roll along right lane speed limit maybe 5mph above. Old men Walter Mitty. Why door at all.

The fact is most cars being driven with any vigor don’t like to be passed it’s a stupid animal instinct

the crappier they car the worse they are, bashed out Nissans being the most egregious
After all what do they really have to loose.

The worst are people who follow way too close
You know they’re not gonna stop in time and why be so close

my rule is let the idiots pass and be on their way to wreck someone else.
Often though if you’re running. At a pace you can also easily dispatch lesser vehicles.
It’s an individual situation thing general safety and pace for all concerned

I giess a red Ferrari is a red flag to a bull yet another reason not to drive a red car.

the fastest way to ravel silver or white car and there is the q car concept, something that looks relatively pedestrian and has the athleticism to move. My q ship white Alfa Romeo gulia.

To the extent you drive your Ferrari choose the day and road a use the car fully.
If you’re just cruising ina red one then own the attention you get. Yes you should be able to just use it but it dosent work that way due to envy and the fact that Ferraris Aston’s etc are seen as in your face cars

parking lots are always full of idiots hard to park anything g anywhere no matter how you try. There is a reason why some people don’t have nice things and odds are they’ll be attracted to parking right next to yours and putting a ding in the door. Mother to a flame.

Seriously use your Ferrari for known drives to known locations and buy a q ship. If younger a newer red Ferrari it’s assumed you want the attention elsewhere

    just my 02c.

I tend towards greys and black myself but after an elder statesman walked up to me while I waited for my wife in a black 812GTS with the top down and he commented how he loved my black Corvette, I’m rethinking the color for my next Ferrari

NYC resident here. I drive an MB wagon, and no one cares when I accelerate after a red light, within NYC-acceptable delay! Ferrari? Horn IMMEDIATELY. So weird. Had a guy in a red jacked-up Mustang hold his phone out of the window (the driver holding the phone) and repeatedly slow, then rev up and pass, until he got the shot he wanted of him "dropping" a Ferrari. Somewhere I am immortalized on Instagram. Whatever...

Kids on motorcycles feel invincible and have the acceleration to smoke most cars- a bad combination.
Personally I hate Prius drivers the most- they inherited the mantra from Volvo drivers of yore- lane hugging, oblivious to those around them and pompous. I wish I could say that about Tesla drivers but the incognito Plaid drivers make up for the rest. It’s also a good(but not great reason) to consider a performance hybrid(296, SF90, Temarario etc)
