A small group of Ferrari Owners would like to invite participants from FerrariChat to take part in a new event based in Italy. See details below.

    FERRARI BY THE SEA
    ADRIATIC TOUR ITALIA
    International Event
    16 – 22 MAY 2005
    GABICCE MARE (PESARO-URBINO), ITALY

We have the pleasure of announcing the
FERRARI BY THE SEA ADRIATIC TOUR ITALIA – International Event,
this will take place in and around the sea town of Gabicce Mare, Italy.

The town with its friendliness towards participants, a nice sea resort, is just north of Pesaro, the home town of composer Rossini. This is where the Adriatic Sea coastline becomes hilly, with lots of history, Roman ruins and medieval castles, art treasures, beautiful country roads leading from the sea to gentle hills and mountains, caves with stalactites & stalagmites, and nature still protected. You will enjoy these beautiful places and the beaches; a lunch at a typical farm-house in a restructured sulphur mine to accommodate pottery, lithography, copper engraving and photography courses; visits to castles; musical evenings; driving along the mythic Mille Miglia route and a breathtaking mountain gorge. This is the appetiser waiting for the participants of this event. The special formula of this meeting is to offer a holiday in a pleasant area where participants can enjoy their Ferrari. This is the first occasion of FERRARI BY THE SEA and we want to show you something different - new routes, new thrills. In addition, participants are free to follow the programme or go their own way. The special formula also of this meeting is the paying of an entry fee in which everything mentioned in the programme, as well as prizes and fun, is included.
We will all enjoy the pleasure of spending a holiday amongst friends. We look forward to seeing you there.

Fabio Filippello (Programme Director) & Phil Haynes (Programme Co-Director)

The programme of events is still being finalised, but will include the Mille Miglia event, a day in Maranello and hopefully a Ferrari factory visit plus much more. For the full programme details, plus an application form send e-mail to [email protected]

Our website (www.midlandferrari.co.uk) will be shortly updated to include full details of this event and some pictures of the area it will be held in.

    Regards,
    Phil Haynes.

    Hi Nino,

The cost of this event is based around a minimum of 20 cars attending the event, if less then 20 cost will increase!!

The cost of this event should be around E1,600 for 2 people sharing a double room, 7 nights in a 4 star hotel including all meals and daily events.

Please note that this is a non profit making event and that none of the money goes to the Organisers of this event.

    Regards,
    Phil.

    Hi phil

that doesnt sound bad, considering its a four star hotel in Italy for seven nights - includes meals and entry prices - seems good price, Ive seen 7 day breaks in Italy for more than that without the scran!

so i take it we just need 20 odd cars to keep it around this price?

    Regards
    Nino

    Hi Nino,

Yes, the photos are from a tour in 2003, MG by the Sea when 120 MG`s from all over Europe and the UK converged on Gabicce Mare for a week long driving tour.

The Ferrari by the Sea event is based on this very successful tour which has been run 5 times over 10 years now by the Programme Director Fabio Filippello.

The photos of the Ferraris are from the 2003 MM tour which we saw when we spent the morning at Gambettola, one of the stops on this event. Next year we will be watching this event from either Brescia or Ferrara, this has still to worked out, then I can finalise the programme of events.

The photos of the policemen playing table football are part of our motorcycle escort team who take us on to our places of interest and are with us for the whole event (that means no speed limits or stopping at traffic lights or jams)!!

I hope to have the programme of events ready shortly, I will post them as soon as they are finished!!

    Regards,
    Phil.

    Hi Wolfgang,

The Stradale police motorcycle escort team are based in Pesaro, and such is the prestige associated with this event that they have to draw lots amongst themselves for this duty, because they all want to take part!!

The team have also put on a motorcycle display on for us at the end of the event in the past and are a great bunch of guys.

    Regards,
    Phil.

    Hi Wolfgang,

I have 95 % of the programme fixed now, I am waiting on just a couple of things, but this is only on what dates we will visit certain towns. So I will post the provisional programme now so that everyone can see it.

I will also post a couple of photo`s, the first one is of a friend, Tal with Ciro, Claire and Helena and his 348ts outside the best bar in Gabicce (Ciro`s) in 2003 and the second is of Ciro, myself and Helena who works in the bar.

    Regards,
    Phil.

    uhhhhh....,

Are Porsches allowed? I am not sure if I will have my 512TR by then.

    Phil,

Compliments on the organisation! Looks like a great event. The problem with the factory visit might be that the group is too big. And normally the time for the factory visit is lunchtime because than the factory is empty and quiet.

    Hi Wolfgang, Ton,

I have set the cost at 1,600 euros for two people sharing a double / twin room. No problem with singles but I don`t now the cost for these rooms yet, I will find out and let you know.

This event can support up to 100 Ferraris and I need a minimum number of 20 - 25 cars to allow this price as the event is sponsored by the Hotel Association of Gabicce Mare who will only contribute the full amount if we get enough cars (around 20,000 euros).

Ferraris, Maseratis and I will allow Lamborghinis to take part in this event if you know anyone who may be interested, Porsches only for you Ton, but you may be at the back, so get the 512tr if you can!!

Factory tours start at 10-00 am, then finishes in time for lunch, after lunch there is an afternoon tour. Depending on the size of the party we will spilt up into two groups, one group will visit factory while other group visits the Galleria and shops, etc, we then meet up for lunch and other group visits factory. I now need to speak to my friend at Ferrari to organise this.

Any other questions let me know.

    Regards,
    Phil.

    Hi Wolfgang,

Cost for single person is possibly around 800 - 1000 euros, but I have not had the finalised prices yet, but should be close to these figures above.

The main problem is we need as many Ferraris as possible to attend this event to keep the cost at sensible level.

I will be contacting all the owners clubs in Europe to let them know about this event this week.

    Regards,
    Phil.
