Per Affaritaliani.it Montezemolo lascia la Ferrari! Basically he might leave to get John Elkahn in. Probably about the right time.
It might be worth a look, cheers! Montezemolo esce dal CdA della Fiat-Chrysler. Che fine farà la Ferrari? - News Formula 1
"It officially ended an era! It's no surprise the absence of the president of Ferrari, Luca Montezemolo, the Board of Directors of Fiat-Chrysler group after the meeting that approved the merger between the two auto companies. Months of coldness towards CEO Sergio Marchionne that represent the end of an era in which the former president of Confindustria was considered one of the Agnelli family, a relationship that has brought the same Gianni Agnelli on track as one of the most fervent advocates the engagement of Michael Schumacher, Montezemolo was condiserato in 1996 as one of the strongest members of the family of Turin, the point of making the 2004 president of the same Fiat after Umberto Agnelli's death. But the disappearance of the old guard, to complicate matters between the group of Turin and the presidency of the Ferrari you are put in the middle also and above the disappointing results of the athletes who have made the Red curl the noses of the Turin. The absence of Montezemolo last meeting, it could be a clear sign of possible exit of a number of Maranello by Ferrari, after rumors that the next president of the new Alitalia Bologna given its established relationships with Arab sovereign wealth funds. The relationship with the CEO Sergio Marchionne are no longer what they once Montezemolo and the same, in this last season, is showing more and more a pawn in the hands of the binomial-Marchionne Elkann. Just as you: the Italian entrepreneur, year after year, has seen downsize their power in Maranello and with the signing of Marco Mattiacci as team principal of Ferrari, here's the confirmation. Yes, because what Mattiacci, more than a name acceptable to the number one of Maranello, the case of element well-liked amongst the leadership of Turin, so much so that the current team principal, is a close friend of John Elkann own. It is not a coincidence." Even this Google translation needs translating.
Welll, anything can happen. Montezemolo was Giani Angelli' boy... so now that they are all gone execept Elkan. I think Marcchione and Elkan are the future of Fiat, so Montezemolo may be on the outs as he is the older generation.... Ferrari is clearly the jewell in the Fiat Crown... so eventually something will happen. I've always wondered why they dont put Piero in as the puppet... and Fiat run it like that.
It will be confirmed in the next day or maybe two. Interesting, it says he'll leave the TEAM, no word on the entirety of Ferrari. Either way, I'm quite happy he'll now finally stop sticking his beak in at the F1 team. Don't really care what he does at Ferrari itself as it's all irrelevant now that he's saved it from it's 90s turmoil.
I agree but it is his nature. Like 99% of us here probably think I believe we witnessed his true colors when he stormed out of the garage this year (can't remember which track it was at though). I seriously doubt Luca will terminate his lifeline to the Ferrari empire entirely or handover his crown and look for a successor to the throne he sits on without a battle. Just thinking aloud.
john elkann. Lapo is the cocaine and shemale enthusiast who is in charge of the tailor made programme...
LdM has made vast contributions to Ferrari over the decades, although there are times I've recently thought that F1 evolution has passed him by. Nevertheless, if he's leaving/ousted, we had better hope the company remains fundamentally Italian. Hope I'm not offending too many people by stating that when I read the line about foreign investors potentially having interest I got a sick feeling in my stomach.
Ferrari will easily keep on going...they'll make more than enough on the hats and shirts alone . Credit where it's due, LdM completely turned Ferrari around but he should have stayed away completely from the F1 team, especially in the mids 2000s.
PitLaneTalk @pitlanetalk BREAKING NEWS: Our sources confirm Ferrari will announce Luca di Montezemolo is set to leave the team within next few days and some guy named John Elkann is taking his place.
