Yes after I get a chance to go them. So far I've shot 3000 images for this event and I still have tomorrow I still have to go through another 3000 from last weekend at Monza. Results Race 2. 1. Roberta FATA 2. Scott Tucker 3. Jay Lee I'm out of here for today. Man am I tired.
I met Roberto Fata at the Lime Rock Ferrari racing days in 2005 when I was there with Classic Coach Ferrari. Very nice guy, not a bad driver, either.
Last Race today right before the big party per Ferrari SPA They are estmating 50 to 100,000 people being her today for the racing, the 60th year party and the celebration of World and Driver Championships. Time to go back to work
Being that the last race is for the World Champion and that the North America Driver don't have a chance in hell to win, three of the seven drivers did not suit up. The weather was overcast but the drivers, like most races in Europe, are very hard on the equipment from the battle. Most of the drivers in the Challenge are Pros and they do do a lot of banging. Keep in mind that we do have good drivers but our cars are for the USA. Thus less horsepower and more weight. Our drivers are at the end of the grid because of times. Therefore no chance in h*** that they will win. After the finale race, the F1 team put on a show. Besides the driving show a pit stop was thrown in for good measure. The crowd went crazy but the best thing was the sound of the motors. All over the track you could hear them whine. Such a sweet sound. In Paris on my way home. Seven thousand more images to work through and that to monza, then you (I'm) looking at ten thousand to work thru. Will have them up soon.
Sounds like a fantastic time - sorry I missed it this year. My question would be, does the Challenge in the US not have both catagories as it does in Europe? We watched both Challenge groups at Monza in April and big difference between them. Glad you had a good time! Can't wait for photos. Carol
I'm back in the USA. I will try my darnest not to fly into Philly again. It has the worse custom system I've ever been in. The US Challenge has only one class. They are not suppose to be any pro drivers as competators and are suppose to own the car that they are driving. Not the same in the rest of the world. My bag is missing and it has the hard drive with all the images in it. Hopefully it will be in Houston when I get there late tonight. Will keep you informed
Here are a few images that where still in the camera. My bag was found still in Paris and I sould get it sometime tomorrow. Go to www.partypics.com and inter code: Italy There are fifty images at this time. More after the files come in. Carol - take a look at the new entry at Mugello. You might get a kick out of it.
What a terrific entry - a helmet ! ! Sorry about your adventures in getting home. We've been via Philly before, worst custom entry point this year honors goes to Detroit. You must have had one heck of a good fare not to go direct to HOU from CDG! Photos are great, can't wait to see the rest. Your photos are always top notch quality. Thanks, Carol
That was just one of many piles around the track from cars going off. Thanks Carol, I'm glad you enjoy them. More to come as soon as I get my Bag from US Air. They say I should have it tomorrow and yes the fare was very good. Bruce
I have not forgot, the luggage just came in from Paris and I'm working on getting the images to my clients. I will start putting them online very soon. Sorry for the delay. I have put up images from the SARA event at Monza, that was the week before the Mugello contest. I will let you know when the new stuff is up.
